Presentation Primary is situated in the heart of Kilkenny City in the shadow of St. Mary’s Cathedral.

We have sixteen mainstream classes, four Special Education Classes and two Language Units. Our school caters for boys and girls to first class, and girls only to sixth in mainstream classes.

In addition to the broad spectrum of Primary School subjects the school participates in many curricular and extra-curricular activities. They include, Sport, Music, Art, Drama and Religious Events. We have a Green School Committee and a Health Promoting School Committee. We have fund raising events and fun days. We have a very active Parents’ Council and B.O.M.

Explore our website and learn about our school’s welcoming atmosphere, our free lunches for all pupils, fun daily indoor and outdoor activities, sports, and Active School journey, our Green and Amber Flags, our strong community links, and see photos of our fabulous school garden and grounds. Our school has an active and very supportive Parents council and it meets regularly. New parents are always encouraged to join. The Parents’ Council organized a very successful Fun Run in June 2023. School opening hours: Junior & Senior Infants 9:00 – 1:45 1st & 6 th Classes 9:00 – 2:45 Please note yard supervision is from 8:50.

This week we celebrated Arts Week and the children enjoyed a range of activities including Dance, Art, Cookery and Magic! A massive thank you to all the parents who so generously donated to our Arts Week Donation collection. Your support made it all possible! St. Patrick’s Day 2024

Our annual St. Partrick’s Day School Parade is quickly becoming a much loved tradition and this year’s parade was the biggest yet! Today the children yet again donned the green, white and orange and enjoyed marching around our beautiful school grounds to mark our National Day. We were joined by the pre-school children from both Busy Bees and Clever Clogs The parade brought joy and smiles to everyone involved and ended with an céilí mór in the school yard afterwards. Volleyball Regional Finals

On Wednesday, our two Volleyball teams headed off to Kilkenny to take part in the Volleyball Regional Finals. The blitz took place in the impressive venue that is The Watershed. For the past number of weeks, 40 girls had been training after school and during lunchtime to prepare for this blitz. We had two teams taking part and each player enjoyed time on the court. The Watershed was a busy venue on the day with schools travelling from Dunamggin, Fethard, Kilkenny City and beyond. Wellbeing Week 2024

Thank you for reading this post – we think you are awesome! This week we celebrated Wellbeing Week. The children enjoyed lots of mindful activities and worked together for lots of art, music, drama and meditation. The week began with a whole school assembly and our Wellbeing Committee performed a short drama called ‘The Wrinkled Heart’. This story encourages the children to be kind and to be a good friend. Grandparents Day 2024

After an absence of 4 years, it was uplifting to welcome back all the great Nanas and Grandads to our school for Grandparents Day 2024. This magical day is part of Catholic Schools Week and we thank Louise Healy and Lorna Lilis for helping to organise the day. Merry Christmas

The children enjoyed a magical week at school. There was hot chocolate, pyjama parties, singing, art, storytelling, dancing and even a visit from the man in the red suit!  The pupils had a wonderful day when Santa came to visit. Each pupil was given a small gift which was organised by our fantastic Parents’ Council.
