Life Story of Savitribai Phule

Savitribai Phule is a remarkable woman who must be mentioned in every essay about women's education. She was the first female teacher in India. It is crucial to realise that in earlier times, particularly in India, women had minimal access to education. Savitribai Phule overcame obstacles like the caste system and male supremacy. Any woman taking the initiative and standing up for a cause at that time was unthinkable and impossible. Savitribai Phule, on the other hand, dismantled all the barriers and fought for women's education in India. She did it by deed rather than speech. She transformed into a live example.

Savitri Phule and her family became a real example of dispelling many stereotypes thanks to her husband's support and relentless work to advance fair education for all. Her success was a model for other Indian girls who wanted to pursue education. They also established the "Native Library" and a school for girls. The goal was to connect with as many youngsters as possible nationwide.

One person was able to carry the light for countless others. Additionally, they assumed care for a widow's son and set up an intercaste union for him. This wickedness still rules society today. Savtribai Phule provided many people at the time with a heroic, impossibly high example. The Savitribai Phule University in Pune was established in her honour today. This university upholds the tradition of comprehensive education. The country applauds Savitribai Phule for her outstanding contributions to education and social transformation.

Essay on “Female Education” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

Female Education

Napoleon was once asked what the great need of France was. He answered. “Nation’ s progress is impossible without trained and educated mothers. If the women of my country are not educated, about half the people will be ignorant. “To educate a girl means to educate a future family line. It is the mother who is the first teacher of the child. If she no light, how can she light the child lamp.

A woman has to play three roles in the course of her life. Each of these roes expects some duties from her. It is only with the help of education that she would be able to do them successfully.

The first duty of a woman is to be a good daughter. The second duty is to be a good wife and third duty is to be a good mother. Education teaches a woman what she should be. It also teaches her how she should do it to be a good daughter. A good wife and a good mother.

Many men spend their evening time at clubs and societies. But a gentleman with an educated wife will not feel the need of a club or a society. He can share his thoughts with her. He can have her advice in trouble. He can spend his leisure in her pleasant company.

An educated lady is a good friend, a clever nurse and a useful adviser to her husband. So she is a true helpmate. She can get her husband’s a affection and regard. An educated lady is always able to share in sorrows. She takes body duties in emergency or need. She takes care of domestic responsibility. She also takes service to help in need.

There is saying in English “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world”. The meaning is that  the mother exercises a very great influence over the lives of her children. She is able to mould their thoughts and character. If she is educated , she will make such impression on the mind of her son that she will enable him in later life to grow into  a great man. Jeeja Bai, mother of Shivaji wished to make Shivaji a great man. It was Shivaji who overthrew Mughal Empire and became what his mother wished.

It is true that education will enable women to make their parents, husbands and children truly happy. Hence it is very necessary that women should be educated. An educated girl is more important than an educated  boy.

In free India, women are functioning as doctors, teachers, lawyers, and responsible officers. We are now fully alive to the need of imparting education to women. We should realize that illiterate and ignorant women cannot be helpful to progress of the country. The bright future of India depends on the all round development of female candidates.

Basically, women in Islam country has not right to female education if we work for the right of the female in society we will resolve the problem.

' src=

Never..im not agree bcz in islam we were taught that if you educate man you educate an individual and you educate a woman you educate an entire nation In Holyquran and in hadith “Seeking knowledge is obilgatory to every Muslim male and female.” Islam is the first relegion in which respect woman and treated them good ….as a sister as a mother as a daughter…as a wife….

' src=

You are correct in your own way but I think that many of the orthodox islams don’t want to see their daughters running the world and being on top of it…That’s all i would say…I hope i didn’t offend you…

' src=

Razzia sultan was a female and he enrolled the world with his intelligence . Islam ask that girls get education . Islam only ask that girls do everything but in restrictions of islam. Islam not ask any girl to not get education. Islam just ask get education but not wear or think like american girls or women

' src=

You are right in your own respect as you are saying something that you have listened. But Islam is not related to any Orthodox. Those suffocating values are settled by their ownself and they are just defending their own odd rules and regulations in the name of Islam.Islam never says to confined a woman in four walls. She is having right of education, decision, business, choice of family, property and of huge other counts as well.I am not defending Islam just because I am related to it but that is the actual truth that should come across the whole world.

' src=

no this isn’t the case, the first word of the HOLY QURAN is IQRA which means to read. According to Islamic teaching it is obligatory for every muslim whether man or women to seek knowledge.. but the real problem is with orthodox, illiterate people within religion that they interpret according to achieve their personal aims. Education for man is very important if they are not educated and not recognize its importance how they allow opposite gender to seek education.

' src=

Islam gives right to educate the all girls but some people are reuining it bcoz they have not proper knowledge..

' src=

IsLam is one of the first religion in the world which is gave the women rights and privalize .so you should be apologies in the whole world….And control yourself….

Historically, girls and women have faced barriers to education. In many societies, they were denied the opportunity to learn, limiting their potential. However, progress has been made in recent decades.

Women’s Education Lesson Summary Notes and Explanation in English Class 12th

Back to: UP Board Class 12th English Guide and Notes

Table of Contents

Introduction:

‘Women’s Education’ is an excerpt from the novel ‘True Knowledge’ by Dr S Radhakrishnan. As the title suggests, it details on the importance of women’s education in this era.

About the Author:

Dr S Radhakrishnan (1888-1975) was the second president of independent India for the period 1962-67. Famous works of him include ‘Indian Philosophy’, ‘Hindu View of Life’ and ‘Philosophy of Upanishads’.

The theme of this piece revolves around the importance of education. Women’s education, in particular, is denoted to be more important as it is crucial for the upliftment of society.

State of women’s education:

The lesson begins with how society restrains women despite the ample opportunities that await them. Women’s education is not given importance and is not widespread enough. The author expresses his distress over how education is vital for women as it is worthy of recognition and encouragement.

The kind of education:

The author elaborates on not just any kind of education but that kind that is deep and broad. In addition to skill, purpose too, he feels, is very important. He quotes this from the  Gita  to assert the same:

“bahusakha hyanantascta”

Characteristics of men and women:

The author also lays down the kind of women the society needs. They ought to possess  santih  and  daya , that is, a sense of calm and compassion. This, he proceeds to state, must in fact be possessed by all human beings in general for they would be mere animals else. Study of greats classics and communion with great minds are two qualities that ought to mould men’s minds. He cites the example of ‘ da da da ’ from the Upanishads to justify this.

Conclusion:

The author concludes by stating how good women and good mothers are whom would pave the way for a good civilization and, by extension, a good nation. He reiterates how education is not mere acquisition of skills but rather, acquisition of knowledge of the world. He ends by pointing out the role and importance of women in ancient Indian texts and how Gandhi’s revolution post-independence has proved favourable for women.

Our life starts with education and if we can pursue education properly we can go really long in our life.

And if we can’t, we may not be able to go long. But in this world, lots of females are still away from education. Sometimes they leave study after a certain age. We need to work on that and make awareness among people. That will help us to understand the importance of female education.

Controversy: There are huge controversies about education for a girl. Some people present really funny and weak logic to prevent a girl’s education. But we should stand against them and let our girls to be educated. We can’t imagine a good nation without educated girls.

If we look at history, there are lots of female scholars who have done really well for their country. We have ‘Begum Rokeya’, she has started a revolution in India and Bangladesh which let girls start studying. We always need to stay away from the controversies and try to make our girl’s educated.

Female Education Advantages: There are lots of advantages of female education. Our whole society can be benefited from the process. Girls are working with boys outside nowadays; if they don’t get the proper education they won’t get a better job.

That’s why they need to pay attention to education. We also need to ensure their study. An educated mother can build an educated family. People won’t get proper good behaviour and manners without a good education.

Importance of an Educated Wife: In your family, of course, you don’t want an illiterate wife. You want an educated girl as your wife. But why, because the future of your kids depends on that. If she is educated, there is a high chance for your kids to be educated. So there is really high importance of educated wife in a family.

Equality in Education: We should bring equality in the education system all across the world. In this world, there are still lots of people don’t believe in equality among boys and girls. But being honest, they are the same. We need to treat the same and make them perfect for each other. If we don’t keep the equality, that will hurt them and don’t let them grow properly.

Conclusion: Female education essay is a really important one. We all can make awareness to our area and let people realize the importance of education for their girls. If we all start trying, then there will be a change and this change will change the world. We all can change the world together.

Essay on Women Empowerment for Students and Children

500+ words essay on women empowerment.

Women empowerment refers to making women powerful to make them capable of deciding for themselves. Women have suffered a lot through the years at the hands of men. In earlier centuries, they were treated as almost non-existent. As if all the rights belonged to men even something as basic as voting. As the times evolved, women realized their power. There on began the revolution for women empowerment.

Essay on Women Empowerment

As women were not allowed to make decisions for them, women empowerment came in like a breath of fresh air. It made them aware of their rights and how they must make their own place in society rather than depending on a man. It recognized the fact that things cannot simply work in someone’s favor because of their gender. However, we still have a long way to go when we talk about the reasons why we need it.

Need for Women Empowerment

Almost every country, no matter how progressive has a history of ill-treating women. In other words, women from all over the world have been rebellious to reach the status they have today. While the western countries are still making progress, third world countries like India still lack behind in Women Empowerment.

essay on female education for class 12 with quotations

Moreover, the education and freedom scenario is very regressive here. Women are not allowed to pursue higher education, they are married off early. The men are still dominating women in some regions like it’s the woman’s duty to work for him endlessly. They do not let them go out or have freedom of any kind.

In addition, domestic violence is a major problem in India. The men beat up their wife and abuse them as they think women are their property. More so, because women are afraid to speak up. Similarly, the women who do actually work get paid less than their male counterparts. It is downright unfair and sexist to pay someone less for the same work because of their gender. Thus, we see how women empowerment is the need of the hour. We need to empower these women to speak up for themselves and never be a victim of injustice .

How to Empower Women?

There are various ways in how one can empower women. The individuals and government must both come together to make it happen. Education for girls must be made compulsory so that women can become illiterate to make a life for themselves.

Women must be given equal opportunities in every field, irrespective of gender. Moreover, they must also be given equal pay. We can empower women by abolishing child marriage. Various programs must be held where they can be taught skills to fend for themselves in case they face financial crisis .

Most importantly, the shame of divorce and abuse must be thrown out of the window. Many women stay in abusive relationships because of the fear of society. Parents must teach their daughters it is okay to come home divorced rather than in a coffin.

Essay on Co Education for Class 12th: Outlines, Quotations, and Headings

Essay on Co Education for Class 12th

Table of Contents

Essay on Co Education for Class 12th: Hey there! In this post, I have included an essay on co-education along with some relevant quotations for students who are currently studying in FA/FSC 2nd Year. Although this essay is not of utmost importance, I have included it as a part of the Class 12 course, as students of FSC Part 2 often use quotations in their English essays to make them more impressive.

The essay discusses the merits and demerits of co-education, and I have carefully chosen appropriate quotations that add value to the essay. Students who are required to write an essay on co-education can use the same material under different titles, such as “Co-education Essay with Quotations,” “Essay on Co-education Merits and Demerits,” or “Essay on Co-education Advantages and Disadvantages.” I hope you find this essay helpful in your studies!

Introduction

Co-education is a system of education where both boys and girls are taught together in the same school or classroom. It is a controversial topic that has been debated for many years. Some people believe that co-education is beneficial, while others think it has negative effects. In this essay, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of co-education with relevant quotes from various authors.

Advantages of Co-education

  • Promotes Gender Equality Co-education promotes gender equality by providing an equal opportunity for both genders to receive education. According to Emma Watson, the actress and activist, “We are not supposed to be equal in the sense of sameness, but in the sense of equal value and equal rights.” Co-education helps to break down gender barriers and allows both boys and girls to learn from and with each other.
  • Encourages Mutual Respect and Understanding Co-education promotes mutual respect and understanding between boys and girls. When both genders interact with each other, they learn to appreciate and respect each other’s strengths and weaknesses. According to Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, “Education is a human right with immense power to transform. On its foundation rest the cornerstones of freedom, democracy, and sustainable human development.” Co-education helps to build a foundation for a better society by promoting mutual understanding and respect.
  • Provides a Realistic Learning Environment Co-education provides a realistic learning environment that prepares students for the real world. In the real world, both genders work together, and co-education helps to prepare students for this reality. According to Gloria Steinem, the feminist icon, “A feminist is anyone who recognizes the equality and full humanity of women and men.” Co-education helps to create a level playing field where both boys and girls can achieve their full potential.

Disadvantages of Co-education

  • Distractions and Misbehavior One of the biggest disadvantages of co-education is the potential for distractions and misbehavior. Boys and girls can become a distraction to each other, especially during the teenage years. According to Henry David Thoreau, the American author, and philosopher, “Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify!” Co-education can sometimes complicate matters by introducing unnecessary distractions and complications.
  • Stereotyping and Gender Bias Another disadvantage of co-education is the potential for stereotyping and gender bias. Boys and girls may be stereotyped based on their gender, which can lead to gender bias. According to Sandra Day O’Connor, the former United States Supreme Court Justice, “We don’t accomplish anything in this world alone… and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.” Co-education may not be able to prevent gender bias and stereotyping.
  • Risk of Harassment Co-education also has the potential for harassment. Boys and girls may be subjected to harassment from each other, which can lead to a hostile learning environment. According to Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement, “violence does not discriminate.” Co-education can increase the risk of violence and harassment.
  • “We need to help students and parents cherish and preserve the ethnic and cultural diversity that nourishes and strengthens this community – and this nation.” – Cesar Chavez
  • “The education and empowerment of women throughout the world cannot fail to result in a more caring, tolerant, just and peaceful life for all.” – Aung San Suu Kyi
  • “The education of women is the best way to save the environment.” – E.O. Wilson
  • “We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.” – Malala Yousafzai
  • “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
  • “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” – Sydney J. Harris
  • “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
  • “The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.” – John F. Kennedy
  • “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” – Benjamin Franklin
  • “The most important thing in education is to teach young people to think for themselves.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson

In conclusion, co-education has both advantages and disadvantages. It promotes gender equality, and mutual respect, and provides a realistic learning environment. However, it also has the potential for distractions, stereotyping, gender bias, and harassment. It is important for schools to weigh the pros and cons of co-education and take appropriate measures to minimize the disadvantages. As Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Prize-winning activist, said, “Let us remember: One book, one pen
