"I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do." However, the two formally filed for divorce in April. It was reportedly an amicable split in which they petitioned for joint legal and physical custody of their children.

In August 2018 Garner conducted an intervention with Affleck about his alcohol relapse, which seemed to have occurred soon after his split with his SNL producer-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus. He willingly conceded to seek treatment, and Garner was subsequently photographed escorting him to the live-in treatment facility in Malibu.

That same month, it was reported that the couple had finally reached a divorce settlement but were going to hold off filing until after Affleck finished his rehabilitation. The divorce was finalized on October 5, 2018.

Garner is one of three daughters (she's the middle child) and credits her demeanor to her upbringing. 

" I feel so fortunate to have grown up in a place where people look out for each other," Garner told Southern Living in 2015 . "Community is the one thing people crave most, and it's hard to come by. I grew up with such an excess of it that now wherever I go, the first thing I do is build my group."

During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the actress said that she wasn't really thinking" and didn't "have a plan for this." So she ended up hiding behind a curtain, "in the corner like a grown-up."

Garner also starred on the HBO comedy "Camping."

The show was cocreated by "Girls" star Lena Dunham and Garner played Kathryn McSorley-Jodell. The role was challenging for Garner, who's considered America's sweetheart and had to play a character that was brash and bragged about her 11,000 followers online. 

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly , the actress explained that Dunham and cocreator Jenni Konner had to remind her not to smile or sugar-coat her scenes.

"That was really hard for me," she said. "There were many times I walked deep into caricature, and I would ask, 'Please tell me if this is too much?' But they would say, 'Go further.'"

Garner is also the cofounder and chief brand officer of a company called Once Upon a Farm.

Jennifer Garner was born on April 17, 1972, in Houston, Texas, to Patricia Ann and William John ‘Bill’ Garner. Her father was a chemical engineer and her mother was an English teacher. She was brought up in West Virginia.

Garner started taking ballet lessons at the age of three and continued dancing throughout her youth. However, she did not want to become a dancer. She was raised in a conservative environment which required her to visit the church every Sunday.

She attended ‘George Washington High School’ in Charleston and later went to ‘Denison University’ to study drama. Initially, she did not want to be an actor as she wanted to become a doctor or a librarian. • Rachel Boston was born and raised in Signal Mountain, Tennessee. At 17, she moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. At 19, Boston drove to Los Angeles and began filming NBC's award-winning Television Series, American Dreams (2002) . For her starring role as Mindy in the independent feature The Pill (2011) , Boston was honored with the Stargazer Award for the most talented emerging actress at the Gen Art Film Festival in New York City, the Best Actress Award from the San Diego Film Festival, and the Emerging Artist Award from the Big Apple Film Festival. Filmed in Manhattan, "The Pill", also took home the Gen Art Film Festival Audience Award.
