My favorite national hero - Gandhiji

In this essay, I am briefly writing a biography of the Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi. He led a life of truth and constantly only thought about the welfare of people. We must salute such a great leader of our nation.

A national hero is a person who always looks after the welfare of the nation. They dedicate their life for progress of a nation. So my favorite national leader is Gandhiji who strove hard to gain independence for India. When Indian gained independence, even then he helped many poor and struggling people of our nation. He preached the principle of non-violence and taught our nation the greatest values. Personal life of Gandhiji Gandhiji was born in Porbunder in Gujarat to Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai Gandhi on October 2, 1869 in a respectable family. His father Karamchand Gandhi was a statesman who served the prime minister of Porbunder then. From his childhood, Gandhiji was greatly influenced by the teachings of his mother who was a pious lady. She told him many moral stories and inculcated values in his mind. He was named as Mohandas by his parents. He competed his early education in Porbunder and at the age of 11 left for Rajkot with his family, joining a high school in Rajkot. For higher studies, he moved to London and returned to India as a barrister. But he was touched by the prevailing conditions in India and decided to gain independence to India. Fight for Indian movement Gandhiji actively took part in the Indian independence movement and was even jailed a few times. He was known for actively participating in the Dandi March movement when the Britishers levied tax on salt. During this movement, he fasted for 21 days and walked for more than 300 kms from Ahmedabad to Dandi to make salt. Besides this movement, he also took part in 'Quit India Movement', 'Non-co-operation movement, Khilfat Movement, to gain independence. But he did not use any weapon during any of these movements. He also helped the British government during World War I. Gandhiji's teaching and philosophy Gandhiji preached about truth and non-violence to the Indians. He taught the greatest lessons of truth, integrity and social co-operation to the people. He wrote a book on 'My experiences with truth' in which he explained how he spoke truth under any circumstance and he was highly appreciated by children by writing this book. During the freedom movement, he also preached about self-reliance and patriotism. He started weaving clothes by using a spinning wheel that was named as 'Charkha'. He began wearing clothes made of Khadi and revealed the importance of Khadi dressing. The Indians were highly encouraged by the teaching of patriotism and they began manufacturing their own products. Gandhi was a great thinker who preached about internal happiness to the people worldwide. He was against untouchability practices in the society and fought for the justice of people who were considered inferior in the society. He called them "Harijans' which means that they are the children of God. Death of Gandhiji This great leader was killed by a nationalist named Nathuram Godse in New Delhi at Birla House on January 30, 1948. But, even today, he is remembered worldwide for his patriotism, courage to stand for truth and his concern for others. He is known as 'Bapuji' by Indians.

In this regard what I wish to share is that, in the history of the world, no leader was looking as simple as Gandhiji and where ever he went, he never changed his dress for the purpose of pleasing the guests and thus his simplicity had won the hearts of many leaders across the world and they follow his ideals very much. And the fan following he had those days without any social media or the electronic media at the helm, we cannot imagine the popularity which even the BBC has praised and recorded in many programs. One thing is sure, no one can equal the character of Mahatma Gandhi and that is truth.

Steps of the Writing Process

Prewriting : This is the planning phase of the writing process, when students brainstorm, research, gather and outline ideas, often using diagrams for mapping out their thoughts. Drafting : Students create their initial draft by writing down all their ideas in an organized way concentrating on a particular idea or present an argument. Audience and purpose of the essay is also important.

Revising : Students improve their draft by reviewing, modifying, and reorganizing their work. This consists of rearranging, adding, or deleting content, and by making the tone, style, and content appropriate for the writing's purpose. This stage does not consist of making grammatical changes or corrections.

Editing : At this point in the writing process, writers concentrate on grammar and mechanics. They proofread and correct errors, as well as edit to improve style and clarity. Peer editing is helpful after the writer is finished editing his or her own work.

Publishing : In this last step of the writing process, the final writing is published on the MY HERO website using the Create Program .

A National Hero is a man of exceptional Qualities. With his selfless and sincere efforts, he can mould the fate of his nation. He is a man of determination will-power, stimulates the energy, courage and enthusiasm of the people and welds them into a nation. His words have the power to inspire devotion and dedication. Carlyle has said:

“All history is the biography of great men.”

History is replete with great heroes but my own hero in history is the Quaid e Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. I like him because of his marvellous personality and noble soul. His matchless leadership liberated the oppressed Muslims of the sub-continent from the cruel slavery of the Hindus and imperialism.

The Quaid e Azam was born in Karachi on the 25 th of December, 1876, in a well-off merchant family. He received his early education in Karachi. His father, Poonjah Jinnah, wanted to give him a good education to his son and kept him away from the business. At the age of sixteen, on passing the matriculation examination, he went to England and studied law at Lincoln’s Inn. After four years, he returned as a Barrister and started his practice in Karachi. Then, he shifted to Bombay. Within a short time, he became a distinguished lawyer.

In those days, Indians were struggling for freedom. He decided to take an active part in politics. He joined the Indian National Congress and worked for the freedom of his country. His political career began in 1909 when he was elected to the Indian Legislative Council. He joined the Muslim League in 1913 and tried to establish a working relationship between the Hindus and the Muslims. He was called the “Ambassador of Hindu Muslim unity”. But, he was disillusioned very soon. He realized that the Indian Congress was not sincere for the cause of the Muslims. He was convinced that Hindu-Muslim unity was not possible. So, he decided to leave the Indian National Congress in 19+20.

The Quid e Azam infused new life, energy and spirit into the dull body of the Indian Muslims. His sincere and devoted leadership kindled a new imagination among frustrated Muslims. He awakened them from their slumber and organized them as a nation. He told the Muslims that the only solution to their problems was that they should have their own separate homeland where they could live their life according to their religion and culture.

As a result of the untiring struggle of the Muslims under the selfless and marvellous leadership of the Quid e Azam, Pakistan came into being on the 14 th August 1947. The Quaid e Azam became the first Governor-General of Pakistan. Inspite of his shattered health, he worked day and night for the great task of nation-building He died in harness on the 11 th September 1948. He will always live in our hearts as the “Father of the Nation”.

India is a proud nation with many national leaders. I respect them all, and admire their courage and strength. But Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stands out as the one I admire most. He is my favourite hero!

Pandit Nehru was born on November 14, 1889. His parents were very well off and lived in a huge house in Allahabad. His father’s name was Motilal Nehru and his mother’s Swarup Rani. Both his parents took part in the freedom struggle. Nehru was educated in England where he studied law. He later became a barrister.

He had all the comforts of life, and was loved by his family and friends. However, his love for his country overpowered everything-all he wanted was to see it freed from the shackles of British rule. He met Gandhiji in 1916 and joined India’s fight for freedom.

He spent nearly twelve years in jail. Some of his best books were written there. His daughter, Indira Gandhi, then a young girl, followed in her father’s footsteps, and later became the Prime Minister of our country.

India became a free nation on August 15, 1947, and Pandit Nehru became its first Prime Minister. He served for seventeen years as Prime Minister till he died on May 27, 1964. He loved children and his birthday on November 14 is celebrated as “Children’s Day-. He always wore a red rose in the buttonhole of his coat.

He is fondly called “Chacha Nehru”. He was indeed a great person and shall always remain my hero!

Weekends are always special days for my mother and me. We do fun things together. One of our favourite activities is watching Tom and Jerry. I look forward to it every week. My mother also volunteers to feed the dogs in our neighbourhood every weekend. She often tells me that we should help everyone, especially the poor and helpless animals. So, I accompany her to feed the dogs, and when I grow up, I want to continue doing what she has taught me. My mother is my role model, and I love her for being the person she is. I have made a promise to myself that when I grow up, I will become like her one day and do my best to help others.

Introduction: In people’s life, there is always a special person that we consider as a hero. I think a father is the biggest hero in someone’s life. Today I will share my feelings about my dad as a hero. There is no doubt that he is the most important person for me in the world.

We all have awesome childhood memories and in most of them, I found only my dad. He is the closest person of me and always was there for me.

My Dad: My dad name is Nelson Sharma, and he is a businessman. I think he is the most interesting person in this world. Most of the time he remains busy for his world, but when he finds the time, he loves to spend that with me and my mother .

We spend a really good time together. From my childhood, there are lots of memories that I can remember about my dad. He has been so much amazing, loving, caring, and supportive. Let’s tell me the story of my first day the school. I was five years old when I arrived at the school for the first time.

My father is the person who escorted me there. I went and I was afraid, upset and sad about the whole thing. When I found lots of students like me in the classroom, it was really freaky for me. After the class, when I came back to my father he gave me so many important suggestions.

With his help and support, finally, I became able to make a few friends in the school. That was a huge turning point in my life. My father taught me everything that how should I act with people, how should I approach them. All these things have helped me to survive and live better.

Why He is My Hero: I consider my dad as my hero. Yes, he is my hero and there is no hesitation about this. In my childhood, I was a too much demanding kid. My dad is the person who was there to hear me and let me wish make real. That was really amazing for me.

When I think about that memory now, I become surprised and amazed. Really he is the person, who can do anything for me. Every hero doesn’t have superman suit, as like other fathers. I think every father is a hero. They fight for their kids, wife, family and other things.

Special Things about My Dad: There are so many amazing and special things that I can say about my dad. The most important thing is a he is a regular guy and never become late in anything. His virtue is the one that I am trying to have. He is a great businessman and running one of the biggest export business in our city.

Conclusion: My father is the most important thing to me in this life. He is my dream hero. I suggest everyone appreciate their father’s contribution to their life and be respectful of him. He is the person, who sacrificed everything from his life to make our life better.
