A bit of Christmas magic: Here's how you can get a letter from Santa this year

One of the best ways to reach santa is through the u.s. postal service's operation santa, which has been running for more than a century. but you've got to get it in the mail on time to hear back..

Need a bit of magic this year? Maybe Santa can help.

With the holiday season upon us and Christmas just a few weeks away , the season's most sought-after man in red is taking letters for the next several weeks. So, take out your notepad, your Christmas wish list and mail it to Santa.

Letters received by the deadline will be answered.

Here's how to do it:

U.S. Postal Service's Operation Santa

One of the best ways to reach Santa is through the U.S. Postal Service's Operation Santa program. The 111-year old program started accepting letters to Santa on Sept. 18. The final date to mail a letter to Santa is Dec. 11.

The postal service says that letters are accepted from everywhere in the country and that there is no age limit for letter-writers.

"Everyone deserves to experience the magic of the season," the agency says on its website.

Writing to Santa

All letters must include first and last names and a complete return address with the street address, apartment number (if applicable), city, state and ZIP Code.

Letters sent in the regular or business-size envelope must have a first-class mail postage stamp to be able to travel through the postal service's processing systems.

Multiple letters can be put in the same envelope but each letter must include a full name and address. The envelopes might require additional postage, depending on the number of letters.

Parents can also send in letters on behalf of their young children.

Letter-writing tips

When writing to Santa, the postal service recommends writing legibly and including specific gift details – like game and book titles, clothes and shoe sizes (include infant, toddler or teen), colors, styles, etc.

The postal service's website also offers templates that can be downloaded and printed – from a “Ho ho ho" letter to a winter bear letter – that can be accessed here .

Santa Claus Museum

The Santa Claus Museum in Indiana is also accepting letters from those wishing to hear back from Santa. The tradition has been going on since 1914, said the museum.

To receive a written letter from Santa, mail a letter with a legible return address to:

The museum says that every letter received by Dec. 16 will receive a response from Santa and his elves.

Why are there 2 fields to enter my child's name?

One field is how you want your child's name spelled and visually seen in the video on Santa's Nice List screen. After you enter the Child's Spoken Name, you can hear a preview of the pronounciation to ensure its correct before proceeding.

Will my child's name sound like a robot in the video?

No, these voices are real and each name is stored in our database.

What if my child's name is not available in your database?

If your child's name is not found in our database, first try entering another spelling variation of your child's name (i.e. if your child's name is spelled "Eric", try this variation of the spelling "Erik"). If no variation of your child's name exists, you can still create the video that will feature your child's name in text form and their photos, but the characters won't verbally say your child's name.

Currently, we are only shipping within the USA. We will be expanding to other countries next year.

How long will it take to receive the letter?

Each order will be processed within 3 business days of the order. Once we ship the order, you will receive a tracking number so you know exactly where the package is at all times.

How can I place an order for delivery?

When is the last day to order to guarantee Christmas delivery?

The last day to order is December 18th with regular shipping. We do recommend that you order earlier in the season and not to wait. We do offer expedited shipping.

What are your Shipping Policy?

Orders start shipping November 1st and ship 24-72 hours after the order is placed. Once the order is shipped you will receive a shipping notification from USPS.

Do you have a letter for the child that is getting a little old and questioning Santa?

Yes we do. Christmas is all about the Christmas magic! Letter Template: “You are never to old to believe” will explain that Christmas is more then just about presents but also believing in Christmas magic!

Can the Package be addressed to more than 1 child?

If there are more than one kid in your family, Santa can create one video for all of them or a separate video for each kid. Every other item is going to be individual for each kid per package.

My child has not been very good this year. Do you have a naughty letter?

Yes we do! Sometimes a child needs a little extra reminder to get on Santa's Nice List. Our Naughty letter will remind them that Christmas is on the way and there is still time to make Santa’s Nice List!

Do you have a special letter for COVID?

Yes we do! Even though COVID is here, the North Pole is taking all precautions for a safe Christmas Eve delivery! Santa has never missed a Christmas and he wont miss this year either!

Do you offer a Baby First Christmas letter?

Yes we do! You can choose letter template “Baby’s First Christmas”. This is a great way to introduce Santa and start the Santa letter tradition!

1)  Hand-write a real letter to Santa at the North Pole from anywhere in the world .  Be sure to include your return address at the top of your letter if you’d like to get a reply  by mail.

2)  Attach a postage stamp.  No stamp required if mailed in Canada.

Letter for Santa Claus FAQs

The Postal Service says letters to Santa should be addressed to 123 Elf Road, North Pole 88888. They also say that these letters should include a return address and stamp in order for them to get a response.

One of the first recorded letters to Santa happened in 1895 in England. In 1899, a girl in Tampa, Florida wrote a letter to Santa that was reprinted in the Tampa Tribune.

Most kids write a letter to Santa in hopes that he will respond back and hopefully even send some gifts by mail or in person on Christmas day so their holiday season is great!

Kid Tips to Write a Letter to Santa Claus

1. always use a greeting.

A lot of kids wonder how to start a Santa letter. It doesn’t have to be very tricky.

You can write “Dear Santa Claus” or ” To Santa” or even address it “Dear St. Nick.”

2. Introduce Yourself

Even though Santa knows who you are, it’s always helpful to have a little reminder.

The best Santa letters offer a bit of background information about who you are and why you are writing to Santa.

Make sure to say your name, how old you are, the city/town you live in, and anything else you want him to know.

It’s important that when you write a letter for Santa that you give him a little nudge to remember you.

3. Don’t just write a list of toys you want

When you’re writing your Santa letter, make sure to talk about nice things you’ve done this year (like how you’ve helped someone.)

You can include Christmas wishes for friends and family, too.

Your letter writing to Santa can even include a question or two and he might respond!

And when you’re ready to include your Christmas list to Santa, be sure to make it clear which item is the priority and be polite about it.

4. Thank Santa

As you close your letter to Santa, it’s always nice to say thank you or wish him luck on his long Christmas Eve ride.

You can even say hi to the reindeer or elves, too! They are a big part of the Christmas magic.

5. Write as legibly as you can

When you have something important to write (like your letter to Santa), it’s vital that you write slowly and carefully to make sure each word is clear.

And, read your letter aloud to your grown-up just to make sure everything makes sense.

6. Draw a picture

If you don’t know how to write yet, you can always draw a picture for Santa. He loves that and will know what you are talking about.

Be sure to show your picture to your grown-up and explain what your picture is about before sending it off.

7. Send it off

There are actually a few different ways you can send your letter to Santa Claus.

Of course, you can always give it to your grown-up to send for you. That’s the easiest way.

Or you can toss it in the fireplace (with the help of your grown-up.) This is a magical way to do it if you’re in a hurry.

You never know you might get a response in the mail or a letter from Santa on Christmas morning!

Prior to the pandemic, there was a steadily increasing demand for primary, specialty and emergency veterinary care in the U.S. With the rate of pet ownership increasing each year and pet owners investing more resources than ever in veterinary care, the infrastructure was already feeling the strain.

During the COVID lockdown, over 23 million households acquired pets in the U.S. The subsequent surge in demand for veterinary care overwhelmed providers, and the need to deliver services curbside crippled their ability to effectively and efficiently serve sick and injured pets. Four years later, even as other industries have found ways to mostly recover from the pandemic, the veterinary industry continues to reel.

Most veterinary clinics are owned by large corporations. These corporations continue to raise the cost of services, making care inaccessible and cost-prohibitive for the majority of pet owners locally, statewide and nationally.

It is past time that the corporations that own veterinary medicine are asked a simple question: What is your highest priority: the wellness of animals and people, or profit margins?

UNDP and the European Union to provide 15,000 additional respirators to meet rising demand

Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, 2 October 2020 – The European Union, together with the United Nations Development Programme, has donated an additional batch of 15,000 N95 valveless respirators to the Donetsk Oblast Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine Centre in Kramatorsk and Clinical Hospital in Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast.

UNDP Resident Representative Dafina Gercheva said that in the face of the rapidly worsening epidemiological situation in Ukraine, it is very important to ensure there is the proper protection for health workers, who risk their own health every day while treating patients.

“We're very grateful to all medical workers in eastern Ukraine who, despite the danger and high risks of contracting COVID-19, continue to do their jobs,” Gercheva said. “Thanks to cooperation with the European Union, we're continuing to protect doctors and build the capacity of medical institutions in eastern Ukraine, so they can more effectively respond to those in need.”

Stefan Schleuning, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Ukraine, referred to joint efforts of the EU and national and international partners to withstand the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine. “We sincerely thank the doctors and medical staff of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions for their daily work in these extreme conditions. The European Union will continue to support economic and social recovery in eastern Ukraine and help ensure the safety of healthcare workers”, said Mr. Schleuning.

The N95 respirator can block up to 95 percent of the smallest aerosol particles and filter the air, which may contain viruses and bacteria. This respirator provides better protection than a surgical mask or homemade protective equipment, as it fits tightly over the face and can filter out both large and small air particles.

Ihor Kiiashko, Head of the Regional Centre for Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine, thanked the international partners for responding to the needs of doctors the ongoing crisis. “This new shipment of N95 respirators will further bolster our defences and strengthen the resilience of the emergency medicine system in these difficult times,” he said.

The total cost of supplying the respirators is US$46,346, and was carried out under the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, with financial support from the European Union.

The United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme (UN RPP) is being implemented by four United Nations agencies: the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Thirteen international partners support the Programme: the European Union (EU), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, and the governments of Canada, Denmark, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
