1. Allama Iqbal Open University  ASSIGNMENTS :-

First and foremost Assignments are an essential part of the students. Because this plays a very important role.  Moreove r , you can’t clear your semester without assignments. Most Importantly send your assignments on time. However, you can not pass exams without assignments. In other words, your attendance in exams is wasteless.

2. Assignments Recommendation:-

You will be considered to fail without submitting your assignment. In other words, even if you get 95% marks in the examination you will be considered as fail. If you clear your assignments, you have the chance to appear in the examination. Therefore you can have 3 attempts to appear.

Following are the passing marks for each assignment

• 1st Assignment must have at least 50% marks.
• 2nd Assignment must have at least 50% marks.
• 3rd Assignment must have at least 50% marks.
• 4th Assignment must have at least 50% marks.

In contrast, subjects having 2 assignments follow the same percentage.

Introduction

B.Ed (2.5 years) is offered for prospective/in-service teachers who have completed 14 years of education, for grooming and updating their professional development skills. The programme intends to develop pedagogical and content related knowledge, attitude and skills of the students.  It offers the opportunities to the students for improving their teaching practice and action research skills by working in the classroom. There are theoretical and practical courses in this programme. There are compulsory courses which will be taken by every student of the programme whereas the student may select two clusters out of five clusters in this programme.

BA/BSc/ADA/ADC/ADS or equivalent (14 years of education)

The students are confirmed for enrolment in the programme upon fulfillment of the admission criteria of the programme.

Clusters of Academic Content Courses

For academic content courses, the student can select only two clusters in the second semester. Student will study the academic content courses in subsequent semesters related to the clusters selected in the second semester. During BEd (2.5 years programme), a student will complete 06 courses of each of these two clusters which s/he had selected in the second semester. 

Students will study the courses from the same clusters which were selected in 2nd semester.

Students will study the courses from the same clusters which were selected in the second semester.

Note: The department may change the offering of the courses depending on the course availability or other factors.

Elective / Major Courses:

For academic content courses, the student can select only two clusters i.e., content areas, in the second semester. Student will study the academic content courses in subsequent semesters related to the clusters selected in the second semester. During B.Ed. (2.5 years program), a student will complete 06 courses of each of these two clusters which s/he had selected in the second semester. 

There will be a compulsory workshop for each course in every semester. There will be face to face workshop of teaching practice courses.

Nil. The student will work on action research project in “Research Project (CC: 8613)”.

Teaching practice-I (course code: 8607), Teaching Practice-II (course code: 8608) and Research Project (course code: 8613) are practical courses. The required work for these courses will be completed by the student after teaching/working in the school/classroom.

Allama Iqbal Open University AIOU Islamabad has announced the date to submit assignments to ATTC, BS, B.Ed, ADE, BBA, PGD, MA, MSc and M.Ed courses for the 2024 Spring Semester.
