Over the years, there have been debates about where Queen Nwokoye originally hails from. The question of her ethnicity was never in doubt as it is general knowledge that she is of the Igbo tribe. Before she came out to fully disclose her heritage, many were unsure which of the eastern states she hails from.  Some speculated that she is of Abia origin, while others claim she was from Mbano in Imo State. The speculations about her originating from Mbano were fuelled by her character role in the 2014 comedy Ada Mbano.

Even though it was a false claim, Queen Nwokoye being from Mbano spread like wildfire and contributed to why the Darling of Nollywood did finally come out to clear the air. When she finally spoke of her heritage , she made it known that she is a native of Ihembosi in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.

Queen Nwokoye was born in the early ’80s to the beautiful family of Mr. and Mrs. Nwokoye in Enugu State. Notably, Queen’s family is a strict catholic family of four beautiful girls, Queen is the first child.

Although Queen was born in Enugu State, she is a native of Ihembosi, Ekwusigo, Anambra State. Anambra State  is a state in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.

For her elementary education, Queen attended Airforce Nursery and Primary School, Independence Layout, Enugu, and Ekulu Primary School, Enugu.

She had her secondary education at the Queen’s College, Enugu – after which she proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, Anambra State.

At Unizik, Queen studied and bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology.

Stephanie Okereke inspired Queen Nwokoye into joining the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood). As it were, her story of becoming a renowned actress and celebrity won’t be complete without mentioning Stephanie Okereke.

In 2004, Queen started going for auditions. In fact, her passion for acting made her leave Enugu for Lagos. When she got to Lagos, she joined the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Later, Queen landed her first movie role but didn’t rise to prominence until 2014. “Ada Mbano,” which later became a Nollywood blockbuster movie, brought her to the limelight.

Queen Nwokoye was born on August 11th, 1982 in Lagos state, Nigeria to Mr. and Mrs. Nwokoye, devoted Roman Catholics from Ihembosi in Ekwuisigo local government area of Anambra State. She is a veteran actress in the Nigerian movie industry.

Queen was born in a family of seven and spent some of her early life in Lagos State where she attended Air Force primary school. She proceeded to Queen’s College in Enugu where she had her secondary education. Queen wanted to study Law but ended up studying Sociology and Anthropology at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Akwa, Anambra state.

Queen Nwokoye Career

Nwokoye made her acting debut in 2004 (after her National Youth Service) in a movie titled: Nna Men ; and since then, she has starred in over two hundred home movies in the Nollywood. The beauty actress of vast credit actually confessed that she had wanted to further her education in Law before fate brought her to the acting scene. The screen star added that she gained the full support of her family when she started acted; which actually paved way for her outstanding performances in the acting ground.

However, Queen is well known for starring as the lead character in a 2014 film titled ‘Chetanna’. The Nigeria-born film actress featured in movies like: Nna Men (2004)- directed by Andy Chukwu; His Majesty (2004); The Girl is Mine (2004); Security Risk (2004); Save The Baby (2005); Back Drop (2005); Speak The Word (2006); My Girlfriend (2006); Last Kobo (2006). Others include: Lady of Faith (2006); Disco Dance (2006); Clash of Interest (2006); The Last Supper (2007) and When You Are Mine (2007). 

She was also influential in other movies like: Angelic Bride (2008); Prince of The Niger (2009); Personal Desire (2009); League of Gentlemen (2009); Last Mogul of the League (2009); Jealous Friend (2009); Makers of Justice (2010); Mirror of Life (2011); End of Mirror of Life (2011). The screen star also played amazing roles in these movies: The Cabals (2007); Show Me Heaven (2007); Short of Time (2007); Sand in My Shoes (2007); Powerful Civilian (2007); Old Cargos (2007); My Everlasting Love (2007); Confidential Romance (2007); The Evil Queen (2008); Temple of Justice (2008); Onoja (2008); Heart of a Slave (2008). Her most difficult movie is ‘Adure’ and its sequel ‘Ada Mbano’. According to the Anambra state born actress, getting to speak the Imo State dialect in movie was so tasking.

Queen Nwokoye is a beautiful and talented actress who has starred in many Nollywood movies. She is popularly known her funny role in ‘Ada Mbano’ an Igbo movie. Queen Nwokoye was born in Anambra state on the 11th of August 1981. She is graduate of Sociology and Anthropology from Nnamdi Azikwe university Akwa, Anambra state.  Queen started acting in 2004 with the movie titled ‘Nna meen’ which was directed by Andy Chukwu.

Many of her fans don’t know that she is a proud mother of twin boys, Queen has been married since 2011 to Mr Uzoma who is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
