- It is directed by VV Vinayak.
Release Date: 12 May, 2023
Going by the current trend, remakes should be banned! If you have seen the Bollywood version of some hit South movies, you'll realise that copy-paste work with no creativity ends up with nothing good. Case in point: Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Nushrratt Bharuccha's film Chatrapathi. The film released in cinemas today, May 12. Director VV Vinayak tries hard, really hard to replicate the magic that Prabhas and SS Rajamouli weaved on the screens back in 2005. However, the Hindi version of Chatrapathi is a pure cringe fest and feels like a two-hour comedy show even though it wasn't the intention. When so much time and money are being spent on a film, why not also provide the actors with a good script?
Before Baahubali, Prabhas and SS Rajamouli had joined hands for the first time for Chatrapathi, which released in 2005. The South film became a sleeper hit and was unanimously loved by the audience and critics alike. Back in 2020, it was announced that Chatrapathi will be remade in Hindi with Telugu hero Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas stepping into the shoes of Prabhas. Shriya Saran's role is played by Nushrratt Bharuccha.
The storyline of Chatrapathi follows the life of Shiva (Sreenivas) and Ashok (Karan Singh Chhabra). While Shiva is Parvati's (Bhagyashree) stepson, Ashok is her biological son. This creates a rift between the two. One day, Shiva gets seperated from his family in an evacuation and Ashok lies to his mother that his brother is dead. In the latter part of the story, we see Shiva killing the goons he works for and defending the refugees. This is when the refugees start addressing him as Chatrapathi.
With this Hindi remake, the charm of the original Chatrapathi has leaked out like air from a balloon. This masala movie has no spice in it and the story is stale. A goon needs to be menacing or have a quality that instils fear . Unfortunately in Chatrapathi, a nemesis for the hero has no such character and comes off as a weak and feeble bad guy to battle the hero.. Unreasonably stretched and monotonous, the script looks quite forced. It lacks a clear vision and towards the end, (alert: minor spoiler here) when Shiva is fighting to save his mother and brother, it seems quite evident that the writers were in a hurry to wrap up the film. Instead of being an action drama, Chatrapathi is a laughable film. It is a fodder for memes and will test your patience to sit in the theatre for two long hours! Watch out for the scene where a goon's head is chopped off by a blade - it looks totally animated.
Director VV Vinayak should have plugged the loopholes in the script which is a major drawback. He could have delivered this remake better if only he had paid attention to the story too. He seemed focussed only on the action.
Sreenivas had once said in an interview how as a kid 'he used to act like Chatrapathi (Prabhas), mouth his dialogues, sing and dance like him.' Well, this certainly didn't translate on the big screen. He looks good on screen as an action hero and perfectly portrays the image of an angry young man. Despite his weak performance, his action scenes are shot perfectly and perhaps that is the only best part of this movie. He flies in the air and packs punches that are whistle-worthy. However, Sreenivas looks very stiff in emotional scenes. His romance with Nushrratt also looks awkward.
Nushrratt provides oomph and nothing else. Her role is more of an eye candy in the film. Her role is written as docile and decorative. Moreover, this time, the actress has failed to deliver a memorable performance. Needless to say, Bhagyashree brings a poise and dignity to Chatrapathi that was much needed. This is why we need more senior actors to perform in Bollywood films. Karan Singh Chhabra goes overboard and he could have toned down a bit.
The technical aspects of the film are fairly good. However, the dance sequences featuring Nushrratt and Sreenivas were shot in a very comical way. One of the songs even looks caricaturish. Not one song was worth taking back home. The cinematography could have been better.
Chatrapathi is a joyless, exhausting ode to the stardom of SS Rajamouli and Prabhas. The film has unbearable, random scenes that makes it a hard watch. If you take a 10-minute bathroom break, you would have missed absolutely nothing. Big time fail! But, if you love action and want to see Sreenivas in his full form fighting the baddies while flaunting his six-pack abs, this film could be for your pick!
2 out of 5 stars for Chatrapathi. Published By: Grace Cyril Published On: May 12, 2023 --- ENDS --- ALSO READ | Chatrapathi trailer out. Bellamkonda Sreenivas goes all out in this remake of SS Rajamouli-Prabhas' film

Chatrapathi movie review: This ultra-loud, crass film belongs in the 80s
Chatrapathi movie review: crassness is a big part of how women are depicted in this film that is straight out of templated potboilers of the 70s and 80s..
My ears are still hurting, several hours of watching Chatrapathi, an ultra-loud remake of the SS Rajamouli-Prabhas film of the same name, which could be straight out of the templated potboilers of the 70s and 80s. It has a ‘dukhiyari maa’, a good son who will do anything for his mother, a bad son who can’t stand the fact that his mother loves his ‘bada bhaiyya’ as much she does, and the kind of villains who demand utter subservience from their serfs: yeh zindagi tumhari nahin, hamaari hai , they thunder, and the listeners cower and shiver, and become slaves for the rest of their lives.
Having got that out of the way, all I can say is that newbie Bellamkonda Sai Srivinas, in his Hindi film debut, does an efficient job of being a muscular saviour of the meek. He huffs and puffs, cleaves and chops, fists flying, legs scything, and remains the last man standing.
As a young boy, separated from his family, constantly aching for the mother (Bhagyashree) who thinks he perished in a fire, Shivaji is the classic Indian hero whose mother-worship is always going to be much more intense than his feelings for the heroine. Nushrratt Bharuccha comes on for a few speaking scenes and some songs in which she moves-and-shakes, because that’s all she has to do: bring up the rear.
In other places, Karan Singh Chabra, playing the jealous younger brother, narrows his eyes whenever he gets the chance. Which is a lot. There are also several set-pieces in which Shivaji, now anointed Chatrapathi, single-handedly deals with a posse of baddies: these action sequences, in which Srinivas gets his own shirt-off-show-oiled-six-packs moment, are the clearly the central focus of this film.
Watch Chatrapathi movie trailer here:
Meanwhile, there’s a young girl who’s molested in a bus, by a guy who throws red ink on the back of her skirt. Crassness is a big part of how women are depicted: the camera peers down Bharuccha’s cleavage whenever it gets a chance, not just when she is on the dance-floor, but also when she is in a car, being chased by goons. Flung neck down, out of open door? Camera leering, right on top. Ugh.

Chatrapathi Review: Bellamkonda Sreenivas starrer Chatrapathi is good on paper but deserved a better execution.
Chatrapathi Movie Review: There comes a scene in the second half of the film when our action hero Shiva (played by Bellamkonda Sreenivas) is seated in his car, confused with the turn of events in his life and tells his friends, “Ye sab kya ho raha hai.” I instantly replied to the on-screen character, “Same, ye kya ho raha hai!” Chatrapathi makes you ask this question time and again, probably every 20 minutes and surprisingly, the film is only two hours and a few odd minutes long.
A remake of the Telugu film of the same name, which released in 2005 and starred Prabhas, Chatrapathi marks Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ Bollywood debut. Helmed by V. V. Vinayak, best known for his action-comedy and masala films, Chatrapathi has Sreenivas sharing the screen with Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sharad Kelkar, Bhagyashree and Karan Singh Chhabra, among others.
The film is dated, set in what seems to be early 2000s — based on the old style phones being used in the movie — and revolves around a boy named Shiva and his half brother Ashok. Born in Pakistan, the siblings and their mother (played by Bhagyashree) are forced to migrate to a small sea-side village in Gujurat in 1985. Unfortunately though, Shiva is torn away from his family due to the chaos unfolding during the evacuation.
Shiva and a few local villagers take help from a powerful village head who orders the migrants to sign their life off to him. Shiva and his friends are forced to be slaves to the village head and performed illegal deeds to ensure their life is spared. Years go by and Shiva’s tolerance to the slavery is often tested. However, he refrains from acting on his anger. Instead, he decides to invest his time looking for his long lost mother and brother with the help of Nushrratt Bharuccha’s character. His search comes to an end soon enough but his hurdles are far from over. The movie follows his fight with injustice against his village folks and his path of reunion with his mother.
Now, I have not seen the original film so I won’t be the right person to compare. However, the concept of Chatrapathi on paper isn’t bad. Typical family lost in a chaos, one child turns good while others bad only to have them go through situations that tests their characters and upbringing formula is a tried and test one in Bollywood. The film’s story writer V. Vijayendra Prasad packs in all the elements and characters to make this a masala watch, even though it seems dated.
However, the screenplay, dialogues and uneven editing makes this film a tad difficult to sit through. Chatrapathi feels like a series of scenes just patched together to ensure timely release. A lot of continuity errors and location errors are visible. You could easily guess a few scenes were not shot in a small village in Bhavnagar (where the story is set) but at a luxury hotel in Mumbai’s Juhu area, leaving us wondering if director V. V. Vinayak even remotely tries to be factually right with the timeline.
Besides the error in locations, props were also conveniently introduced in scenes out of the blue, leaving you confused where it appeared from. For example, just before the climax scene, Shiva declares that he will be leading the village into freedom. While he stands in the rain and delivers the freedom speech at midnight, out of nowhere, an umbrella appears and he is escorted out of the venue underneath it, showing his upgraded prominence. In another scene, wherein Shiva and his lady love are attacked, it is shown that their car is at the edge of the road. However, suddenly, it is in the middle of the road and is surrounded by the enemies’ cars. These scenes feel like a lot was chopped in order to make the duration less and in the process, the makers turned a blind eye to the continuity.
Nevertheless, Chatrapathi boasts of some impressive, slow motion action scenes, a template very common in Telugu films. The action sequence are choreographed well and it surprisingly draws you into the movie more than the drama playing out in the film.

The biggest disppointment from the film are the main four cast members. It is hard to gauge if it is bad writing or lack of direction focused for Bollywood audience but Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Bhagyashree and Karan Singh Chhabra deliver uneven performances. Sreenivas tries his best to deliver a Rohit Shetty meets Salman Khan style massy performance and in a few places manages to deliver but there are scenes in which he looks confused about how to emote. The strange switch in scenes — from a relatively sad scene to an instant switch to a song — acts as a hinderance in his performance.
Nushrratt seems like she was roped in only to star in four songs of the film. She has only five scenes in which she is given the scope to act but that also goes by before you could even grasp as to what is going on. Honestly, Bhagyashree deserved a better and toned down role. Her emotional scenes are written so messily that it is difficult to empathise with her. Karan felt weak as a grey shaded brother.
The saving grace of Chatrapathi were Sharad Kelkar, Sahil Vaid, and Amit Shivdas Nair, among others. The cinematography is also kept grand, in order to match the massy vibe of the film.
Bottomline: Chatrapathi is good on paper but deserved a better execution. The film feels like it wants to be a Salman Khan massy movie with a vision of Rohit Shetty but doesn’t goes through with the idea.

Riding high on the success of his Hindi dubbed films on YouTube, Sreenivas Bellamkonda has now made his Bollywood debut with the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Chatrapathi. The Hindi remake is also titled Chatrapathi and is helmed by Tollywood’s sensational director VV Vinayak. Nushrratt Bharuccha has played the female lead. The movie has hit the screens today, and let’s see how it is.
Shiva (Sreenivas Bellamkonda) lives in Pakistan with his mother (Bhagya Sree) and brother Ashok (Karan Singh Chhabra). Ashok hates Shiva, as the latter is not his biological brother. One day, Shiva gets separated from his mother due to Ashok during an exodus from Pakistan. Shiva lands in Gujarat as a refugee and is forced to do criminal activities. He transforms into an aggressive guy a few years later. Also, Shiva’s quest for his mother never ends. At one point, one of the boys in the refugee camp gets attacked, which makes Shiva revolt. He becomes the savior of the oppressed, and soon, people start referring to him as Chatrapathi. Did Shiva meet his mother finally? What challenges did Ashok cause Shiva? This forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Sreenivas Bellamkonda is too good in the role of Chatrapathi. The actor has put his heart and soul into the Hindi remake, which is sure to please the mass audiences. Compared to his previous movies, Sreenivas has improved a lot in terms of dialogue delivery. His action scenes are stunning, and Sreenivas shows the dancer in him once again. All in all, Sreenivas makes a promising debut in Hindi cinema.
The second half of the movie is slightly better compared to the first half. Karan Singh Chhabra, who reprised Shafi’s role, is stunning. The actor’s body language and mannerisms are spot on. His scenes with Sreenivas made the second half watchable.
A lengthy action sequence which comes in the second half, where Sreenivas and Nusshratt get attacked, is conceived superbly. The dialogues and elevations are designed in a way to amuse the mass audiences, and the makers succeed partially.
Minus Points:
While the focus was heavy on the action sequences, the emotional quotient took a beating. The characters were established hastily, leaving no space for the audience to connect to them. Be it the mother’s emotion, hero’s camaraderie with his fellow mate, or the struggle undergone by the refugees, everything looks so artificial in the movie. Bhagya Sree did well, but the writing made her character look weak.
Even if we consider the massive action blocks in Rajamouli’s Chatrapathi, there is a beautiful underlying emotion behind every fight scene. The way these emotional moments lead to the fight sequences give an adrenaline rush. Sadly, Chatrapathi’s Hindi version is filled with mass sequences that don’t have any emotional connection.
The songs are way too many in number, and their placement is absolutely awful. The makers tried to keep the film as short as possible compared to the original version. While doing so, the main aspects have been left away, making it a soul-less one. There is no complaint regarding the removal of comedy tracks, but some beautifully crafted scenes in Chatrapathi were omitted here in this remake. Sharad Kelkar is wasted in his role, which doesn’t have any importance.
Technical Aspects:
Tanishk Bagchi’s songs are not at all impressive, and Ravi Basrur’s background score is loud, which doesn’t add any value to the film. Nizar Shafi’s cinematography looks neat, and some action sequences have been captured quite brilliantly. In an attempt to make the movie fast-paced, many scenes have been ended abruptly by the editor. The production values are solid nevertheless.
Coming to the director, VV Vinayak, he did just an okay job with the film. More than his direction, it is the screenplay penned by Mahadev that has to be blamed. It isn’t wrong to make changes for a remake, but it needs to be ensured that the essence of the original isn’t lost. A few choices made by the team had an adverse effect on the film.
On the whole, Chatrapathi is a film that is high on action and low on emotions. Sreenivas leads from the front and gives a solid performance. Karan Singh Chhabra is yet another asset, but the film doesn’t have a balance of mass and emotional elements. Hardcore action lovers can enjoy a few action set pieces, but the movie might not please all sections of the audience.

Chatrapathi Review: Utterly Outdated
There's nothing in Chatrapathi that you haven't already seen before, complains Mayur Sanap.
Chatrapathi , which marks Telugu star Sreenivas Bellamkonda's Bollywood debut, reeks of unoriginality.
It's not because it is a remake of S S Rajamouli's Telugu film of the same name from 2005.
A Mahadev's stale screenplay and Director V V Vinayak's uninspired approach invoke the been-there-seen-that-numerous-times-before feeling for viewers.
Not among his best work, the original Chatrapathi worked because of Rajamouli's flamboyant vision. There was an air of coolness and a more visceral grittiness to that film.
This remake had an opportunity to put a fresh spin, but barring a few geographical changes, this film stays too faithful to the source material, leaving no room for any significant improvement.
The story is pretty basic and predictable.
It follows the stale template of the rise of the messiah, who eventually becomes the saviour of the oppressed.
It throws in elements of bechari maa and her adarsh beta to form the melodramatic backstory for the hero.
Chatrapathi delivers very little. It strays from telling an engaging story and focuses too much on Sreenivas' action skills.
The plot itself makes little sense and the reasoning behind just about everyone's actions is flat-out absurd.
This results in an inconsistent film that tries too hard to throw in futile twists and turns as the film moves toward its foreseeable conclusion.
During its runtime of 124 minutes, Chatrapathi lurches from one action set piece to another with slow-mo shots of the hero showing off his action moves.
Everything is dialled up to 10: Be it the background score, sounds of kicks and punches, and the swag of the hero who is doing it all.
The grotesque violence throughout the movie is over-the-top and mindless.
Everything about the film feels lame including the bland lead performance from Sreenivas, who is otherwise impressive in action scenes.
For the Bollywood launch vehicle, he gets an all-encompassing role in which he is doing action, dance, romance, drama, and dialogue baazi , but the actor falls short to make us root for his character Shiva.
The jarring lip sync to dubbed Hindi dialogues further dilutes his impact.
Nushrratt Bharuccha plays the decorative heroine that I thought was a thing of the past.
With nothing significant to chew on, NB is there to mollycoddle the hero and look perplexed when he is fighting the baddies.
Bhagyashree as the weepy mother isn't given much to work with past clichéd character traits and stilted dialogue.
Sharad Kelkar, Freddy Daruwala and Amith Nair play the villains that induce yawns more often than alarms.
Remake status aside, there's nothing in Chatrapathi that you haven't already seen before. Without an engaging story or interesting characters, the film is relegated to outdated actioner.

Chatrapathi Movie Review: Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda Leads A Spoof Of Mass Entertainers Ft. A Scammed Nushrratt Bharuccha
My mind also refuses to believe chatrapathi, written by v. vijayendra prasad.
Star Cast: Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Bhagyashree, Karan Singh Chhabra, Sharad Kelkar, and ensemble.
Director: V. V Vinayak.
What’s Good: It all ends pretty soon.
What’s Bad: Someone scammed Nushrratt Bharuccha for an acting part and made her dance in multiple weird songs, with funny choreography, and painfully high heels. Also, names like SS Rajamouli and Vijayendra Prasad are associated with this one.
Loo Break: a couple took one in just the first 15 minutes; you first decide if you want to watch the movie or not.
Watch or Not?: there is no subtle way to say no. NO.
Language: Hindi (with subtitles).
Available On: Theatres Near You!
Runtime: 123 Minutes.
A half-orphan boy gets separated from his stepmother at the onset of India Pakistan partition. In Gujarat, India, he becomes a local gangster with a new villain everyday, and nothing really happens.
Chatrapathi Movie Review: Script Analysis
It took me exactly 2 hours and 23 minutes to procrastinate and process what exactly one is supposed to write about a movie that cannot even pass a basic litmus test of being a film. ‘Mass entertainer,’ with time, is turning into one of the most exploited and mentally abused genres in Indian cinema. If banal stories with no filmmaking grammar involved and way far from even entertaining are ones that can be marketed as masala movies that are Pan-India and made for the Indian audience, you aren’t making a joker out of yourself but also insulting the sensibilities of the audience.
With no concrete visual timeline to this tale, Chatrapathi is a film that needs to be reminded that it is being made in 2023. For a story that begins in 1947, progresses a few years, maybe max, and later takes a leap for a decade and lands in the early 2000s, I guess, this movie has no interest in being visually authentic. Because first, how did it travel like decades, and the sons have only grown a few years? How is Bhagyashree, as mother not aging at all? What is her hair care routine? Who’s hiring so many dancers, and where are they exactly dancing in a setup that has no place for them? Because men entering clubs and changing clothes like they know a random dancer will drag them to stage, so they carry an invisible bag full of designer outfits in a film that has established them as enslaved people is way beyond my mental capabilities.
My mind also refuses to believe Chatrapathi, written by V. Vijayendra Prasad, the man who shaped the legendary Baahubali and the monstrous RRR with his son SS Rajamouli. This remake falls short of everything that is cinema. The idea of V.V Vinayak is to create a story done to death, and that too so haphazardly that there is no glue between two scenes. Look at the introduction, if not anything. It rushes like the budget was needed for the second half, so you must not waste anytime in establishing the movie. It just begins and doesn’t breathe or let the audience breathe at all. Add to this the fact that the movie tries to replicate something of the sorts of Rohingya crisis, and that too in no way lands well.
No way does the script ever try to complicate the story. One villain enters, dies, another is born. Shiva (Sai) is equipped to fight them like he was a martial arts scholar in his past life. The close-up shots of every single hair pore on his muscles are the only character layering he gets. Because the film never lets him grieve for his situation at all. The mother he was looking for was right on the next set, but he didn’t see her for a decade. Cut to the day he realises she is alive; he finds her photo on the second page of the first file he picks in a government office. He then decides to stay oblivious but still built a mansion for his mother.
The real assault on our collective intellect begins here when he is crying for fulfilling his mother’s dream. A dancing enthusiast Nushrratt says, “Ye time emotional hone ka nahi, party karneka hain,” and they break into a weird dance number that goes like, “Laila lagja gale, Majnu khada tere window tale.” God save us, please.
Chatrapathi Movie Review: Star Performance
Sai Srinivas Bellamkonda’s theory of acting either makes him act or dance; he refuses to do both together. The lack of writing develops his character as an enslaved person who has a chiselled body bronzed and oiled to perfection. Sai does an earnest attempt to make this all work but is made to act like it is a kindergarten stage play where one must use hand gestures for every word that they speak. Actually, everybody is made to do it.
My heart aches for Nushrratt Bharuccha. Girl was told she is leading the movie but scammed into doing 4 songs, and that is only screentime she gets. She enters frame says something very out of context, and breaks into a random dance number blessed by Sarojini’s version of Manish Malhotra. She is never dressed era appropriately, add to it her family is forgotten and even her from the finale.
Karan Singh Chhabra as the villain has to be funniest casting coupe in the longest time because the poor guy gets to play a spoof of every possible cringe villain ever. His approach is overdramatic, which does no good for him or the movie.
Bhagyashree takes a cue from all the over-dramatic mothers Bollywood has ever produced and creates a one-tone character that evokes no emotions in anyone.
Chatrapathi Movie Review: Direction, Music
V.V Vinayak made a movie like he was sleeping since 2005 after watching the original film starring Prabhas, and decided to remake it when he got up. The movie has no plan to be a nuanced product because the filmmaker adds none. If you approved dialogues straight out of a cringe TikTok video you need to assess your decision and take a break understand that crime. Also, which part of Gujarat is so much surrounded by the ocean? This movie is why Geography lessons need to be compulsory.
The visuals are so lazy, and the set design looks like a craft project with no realism to it. Music by Tanishk Bagchi is an addition to the list of weird albums he has created. The crime this time is that he made Sunidhi Chauhan sing an outright bad song right after she created a gem of an album with Amit Trivedi ( Jubilee ).

Chatrapathi REVIEW
Chatrapathi is an official remake of a Telugu film of the same name. The original film was headlined by Prabhas and was helmed by SS Rajamouli. I have not watched the original film but I can’t believe that the director who made Baahubali and RRR has given us this. I can’t believe that the writer Vijayendra Prasad who wrote the stories of those films has written Chatrapathi. The remake version of the movie is just BAD! The original film was made in 2005 and remaking the movie after more than a decade can literally hamper the movie. The makers should understand that the audience has changed and they are now craving good content and not a sleazy movie like Chatrapathi.
Sreenivas Bellamkonda and Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer literally takes me a decade back which is quite dated and boring. I kid you not, the first 30 mins of the movie showed 2 songs which begins out of nowhere. That’s not it, I didn’t hear the hero’s dialogue or voice in the first 30-40 mins of the movie which was just bizarre. Random things are happening in the movie that doesn’t make sense at all. Right from the songs beginning out of nowhere to the flow of the story, it is poorly executed. I feel extremely bad to even write this in my review given the fact the original film was made by SS Rajamouli while written by Vijayendra Prasad.

Shiva and his family are uprooted from their community and wind up as bonded labourers in Gujarat. The situation worsens when his jealous stepbrother starts to create problems in his life. Due to a certain incident, his stepbrother lied and said that Shiva was dead. However, years later, he finally reunites with his mother but in the worst scene possible. His brother creates such scenarios that their mother starts believing that Shiva is wrong. But will his mother remember him? Will his mother see him as the bad guy?
Highlights of Chatrapathi:
I don’t know the film’s highlight, maybe the runtime. It was wrapped up in 2 hours and that can a relief point for you.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pen Movies (@penmovies)
Drawbacks of Chatrapathi:
Execution: Chatrapthi was poorly executed. There was a scene in the climax where Shiva is being shot and in the middle of the fight scene he wants to rest on his mother’s lap. the bad guy comes to fight with him but he wakes him up instead of charging on him. He then shoots his mother and that makes Shiva get up from his sleep. I was like ‘what is happening?’ Things were random in the movie. Even Nushratt falling in love with Shiva was absolutely random.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sreenivas bellamkonda (@sreenivasbellamkonda)
Songs: In the first 30 mins of the movie, two songs were introduced and I was like why? Of course, one special dance number, one romantic number, one party track and all were included and none of them were stirring. Yes, there are too many songs but they are randomly placed and played in the movie.
Acting: Everyone in the movie was perpetually bad in their performance. Some were over dramatic while some were overacting.
VFX : I guess the entire movie was made with a green screen behind them. I don’t think there was anything real in the movie.
Star performance:
Sreenivas Bellamkonda plays the titular role in the movie and oh boy, he doesn’t impress me with his acting chops. From his dialogue delivery to his emotions, everything looked so forced and rehearsed. Even his expressions during dance sequences, it seems like he is trying too hard to become the masala hero or maybe trying to act like Prabhas.
On the other, Nushrratt Bharuccha seems to do a lot of overacting. Apart from flaunting a good fashion game, her acting game is a zero.
Coming back to Karan Singh Chhabra , he plays the cunning stepbrother who is only fuming and giving cunning stares and glares. Plus, I don’t understand what’s the point of giving him coloured lenses, I mean that doesn’t make them look like the bad guy. Sahil Vaid is the only saving grace in the movie. His comic timing was good and made this film a little bearable.
Sharad Kelkar also plays the bad guy and it seems like he is underutilised. He comes into power in the second half of the movie and leaves no impact. Stars like Rajesh Sharma, Sahil Vaid, Bhagyashree and Rajendra Gupta were a waste of talent.
Conclusion:
Concluding my Chatrapathi review, Sreenivas Bellamkonda and Nushrratt Bharuccha starter is amateurishly made. A movie that you want to save yourself, all thanks to bad execution, bad screenplay, and bad acting.

Fans of the original film are eagerly waiting to see how it will be adapted for a Hindi audience.
In this article, we will provide a comprehensive review of Chatrapathi 2023. From the storyline to the actors’ performances, we will delve deep into every aspect of this highly anticipated film.

Shriya Saran’s role is played by Nushrratt Bharuccha.

Shivaji and his family are uprooted from their community in Sri Lanka and wind up as bonded labourers in Visakhapatnam. The situation worsens when his jealous stepbrother enters his life.
A reboot of the 2005 Telugu Prabhas-starrer by the same name, Chatrapathi begins with Savitri Bhatia (Bhagyashree) bringing up her stepson Shiva and biological son Ashok in Pakistan. As the trio is driven out by hostile locals, a jealous Ashok lies to his mother that Shiva is trapped in their burning house, whereas the older brother is safely whisked away on a boat by their family friend (Rajendra Gupta). What follows throughout the movie is a series of cliched tracks centring around Shiva’s (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) life and search for his family in India.
An aimless action drama that is primarily set in Pakistan, filmmaker VV Vinayak brings the most dated, conventional, melodramatic and avoidable film that seems to belong from the 1990s or even from the stone age. Poverty, slavery, monopoly of the powerful, the very famous maa ka logic, this film has everything done to death.
Chatrapathi, which marks Telugu star Sreenivas Bellamkonda’s Bollywood debut, reeks of unoriginality. It’s not because it is a remake of S S Rajamouli’s Telugu film of the same name from 2005. A Mahadev’s stale screenplay and Director V V Vinayak’s uninspired approach invoke the been-there-seen-that-numerous-times-before feeling for viewers.
Sometimes, while cleaning up the cupboards, we come across old photographs or documents which remind us of our flaws and leave us with an uneasy feeling. Watching Chatrapthi leaves one with the same emotion about the masala fare we once consumed without burning the palate.

Shiva (Sreenivas Bellamkonda) and his mother (Bhagya Sree), and brother Ashok (Karan Singh Chhabra) reside in Pakistan. Ashok dislikes Shiva because Shiva is not his biological brother. Due to Ashok, Shiva is separated from his mother during the exodus from Pakistan. Shiva arrives in Gujarat as a refugee and is forced to engage in criminal activity.
A few years later, he transforms into an aggressive individual. Additionally, Shiva’s search for his mother is unending. During this, one of the refugee camp’s boys is attacked, prompting Shiva to revolt. Soon after he becomes the savior of the oppressed, people begin to refer to him as Chatrapathi. Did Shiva finally meet his mother? What obstacles did Ashok present Shiva? This is a continuation of the story.

Catchy Melody From 'Pushpa 2' Coming Up
It is well-known that the song "Srivalli" from the movie 'Pushpa: The Rise' was a national hit. This melodious track by DSP-Chandrabose was a highlight of the mass action entertainer.
Now, they aim to recreate such magic in 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', working again with director Sukumar.
It seems that the song will be released soon, as promotions for 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' have begun. The first song has already gone viral.
This melody will be released as a single, and preparations such as the lyrical video work have already started.
'Pushpa 2: The Rule', produced by Mytri Movies, is set to release in August.
The movie has generated significant anticipation nationwide and is among the most awaited Pan-India films. There is also considerable interest in this movie in the Hindi belt.
Audiences are eagerly anticipating the return of the dynamic trio of Bunny (Allu Arjun), Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil on screen.
Director Sukumar is working diligently on the film to meet those high expectations.
