Positive Messages

Alongside the extreme gore, the movie manages to ask interesting questions about people's general fascination with, and acceptance of, all things horrific, from Halloween costumes and decorations to more morbid obsessions. It seems to wonder where someone might draw the line between being entertained and being horrified.

Positive Role Models

Sienna looks after her brother and comes to his rescue. She's creative and responsible, even if she has a few normal teen hang-ups. She claims that she won't drink at her Halloween party, but she does succumb to peer pressure.

Diverse Representations

The movie is largely female-driven, the exceptions being Sienna's younger brother and Art himself. Some characters of color appear in supporting or background roles, notably the clerk at the Halloween store.

Tearing open skull, plucking out brain. Eyeball plucking. Killer scalps a young woman, rips her arm off, rips her other arm in half, rubs bleach and salt in wounds. Killer throws acid on young woman's face, beats her to a pulp, pulls out her heart and takes a bite. Many characters are shot and killed. Child is killed by eating glass-filled cereal (blood dribbles out of his mouth). Severed heads. Character hit with bottle, stabbed in eye with broken bottle. Man's penis ripped off. Disturbing imagery, woman with disfigured face. Killer shoves mashed potatoes into person's demolished face. Fighting, kicking. Whipping, skin flaying. Character and buildings on fire. Hardcore Gore-nography

What's the story.

In TERRIFIER 2, a year has passed since Art the Clown ( David Howard Thornton ) committed his brutal slayings. Now he's somehow come back to Miles County -- accompanied by a ghostly, demonic young girl clown (Georgia MacPhail) -- just in time for Halloween. Art starts his killings once again, but soon he turns his sights on siblings Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan ( Elliott Fullam ), who live with their harried single mother (Sarah Voigt). Sienna is working on an intricate fantasy costume based on drawings their late father had made, while Jonathan has more morbid obsessions. On Halloween night, Sienna goes out partying, but when Jonathan is kidnapped by the clowns, she must head to the old, abandoned amusement park and try to save the day.

Is It Any Good?

The heinous Art the Clown returns in this intensely gory sequel that tries much harder -- and is much smarter -- than the original movie. For one thing, it uses its 138-minute running time to establish more memorable characters. It seems as if writer-director Damien Leone paid attention to the reviews of Terrifier -- including critiques about its wandering/nonexistent storyline and characters -- and knuckled down to do better on Terrifier 2 . Right away, it's easy to see what a great new character Sienna is; her warrior costume is only half of it. There's plenty of downtime to see how she interacts with her family and friends, arguing, talking, laughing, etc. We know who she is, and human life starts to matter more here than it did in the first film.

Plus, the movie is clever enough to ask why people like and watch slasher movies. It has several subtle moments of sly commentary, such as when a young boy sees Art holding a severed head in a Spirit Halloween-type store and says "cool!" Characters also think it's cool when Art serves them candy from a (different) severed head, which they obviously believe is fake. Earlier movie slashers like Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Leatherface have become iconic, but Art arguably goes much, much further with his killings. There's so much more blood and gore. Art doesn't even seem evil; he grins and takes great joy in his work. So where do we draw the line between being entertained and being horrified? Terrifier 2 certainly takes a strong stomach to watch, but it's also surprisingly thoughtful.

Catnip to a certain audience … David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown in Terrifier 2 .

Terrifier 2 review – vomit-inducing killer-clown flick displays the art of butchery

It all begins with a dream in this extreme and overlong horror film that is absurd fun rather that completely cruel

H old your nerve and your stomach: this gorefest is almost too good to pass out while watching it. Making headlines for apparently causing cinemagoers to faint and vomit, with an ambulance reportedly called to one screening, Terrifier 2 is not for everyone, but this tasteless wonder meets nauseating expectations. Blood, guts, molars and tendons fly across the screen with reckless abandon. No body part is safe from Art the Clown, a Pennywise on bath salts who treats the human body like a diamond-stuffed piñata, each blow and decapitation unearthing intestinal bounties and gushing reserves of liquid ruby.

In between scenes of bodily mutilation, there is a plot – just about. High school student Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) prepares a costume, designed by her late father, for a Halloween party. The night before, Sienna has a vivid dream in which she encounters a rampaging Art, fending him off with fire. For some reason, this also causes a fire in her bedroom. The following day, Sienna and those around her face the deranged clown in the flesh.

The creative ways bodies are hacked to bits is the film’s only truly inventive aspect. These scenes are long and unobscured. Victims are left wailing in pain as they become Art’s plaything. Despite the bloodshed, the impressive practical effects help ensure the film is absurd fun instead of outright cruel, more in the vein of The Evil Dead than the torture-porn of Saw .

The tacked-on commentary about the perils of unsupervised screen time and the gratuitous nature of true-crime entertainment, with namechecks for Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy , are hardly original, and the runtime is at least 40 minutes too long, but the commitment of the cast, and jaw-dropping scenes of flesh being turned inside out makes Terrifier 2 catnip to a certain audience.

Terrifier 2 - Review

Art the clown is back and we’re all smiles..

Terrifier 2 Review

This is an advanced review out of Fantastic Fest, where Terrifier 2 made its world premiere. It will hit theaters on Oct. 6, 2022.

Damien Leone's highly anticipated Terrifier 2 is a tremendous improvement over the original all-slaughter, no-substance Terrifier that introduced newfound slasher celebrity Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton). Leone's symphony of bodily destruction boasts magnificent practical kill sequences; as a bonus, there's a semblance of storytelling this time. It's still riddled with underdeveloped subplots and themes, but Leone better adheres to traditional slasher formulas with an empowered final girl and motivations behind Art's sickening massacre spree. It's clear that Terrifier movies mean to be low-budget yet hyper-revolting special effects showcases, and Terrifier 2 doesn't disappoint (full-view decapitations, bones snapped like twigs, gooey dismemberment) — I just don't know if Leone fully utilizes the film's two-hour-plus runtime with so much leftover ambiguity.

Terrifier 2 follows recognizable slasher sequel molds, given how Art's resurrection isn't referenced outside the film's plot synopsis. Art's back for another Halloween massacre in Miles County…because why not? Brother and sister duo Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) attract Art's attention, possibly due to their deceased father's foreboding sketchbook filled with Art's monochromatic portrait and disturbing traces of Art's original victims. Also along for the ride is a "Demon Girl" dressed as Art's mini-she, costumed in black and white, down to rotten teeth and makeup just like Art. Somehow, someway, Leone tries to force all these supernatural elements together sans perfection, unlike splattery gore whenever Art opens his trash bag of murder weapons.

Leone's growth as a screenwriter between Terrifier and this follow-up is a noticeable improvement, but overall cohesion still lacks. Terrifier 2 takes the gonzo "Jason fights a telepath" approach to sequel storytelling by introducing Art's skip-along accomplice or Sienna's comic-book heroism, only to execute like explanations vanished during post-production. Art's resurrection is basically a marketing logline, some characters can see the Demon Girl while others can't, and Sienna's spiritual connection to her father's fictional character in some possibly magical sketchbook has coincidental "go with it, bro" energy. Terrifier 2 veers off the rails in ways other franchises don't encounter until entry four (Leprechaun), five (Child's Play), or seven (Friday the 13th), and that's not always a good thing when highlighting the scattershot screenplay. At 138 minutes, you'd presume Leone would have plenty of time to richly explore mythology that otherwise stays forgotten.

That said? I'll counterpoint myself. Terrifier became an overnight sensation based on Art's seared-into-nightmares smile, his vying for slasher icon status through coulrophobia, and vile Halloween havoc. In that regard, Terrifier 2 doubles down on Art's legend and showstopper kill sequences.

Art might be mute, yet his maniacal personality becomes even louder in Terrifier 2. David Howard Thornton's given more opportunities than silently cackling like a carnival creepshow while desecrating victims' bodies. Art's companionship with his freaky — possibly ghostly — tagalong is despicably sweet as they play Patty Cake. Thornton brings more physical humor like his cartoonishly loony sneak-up-from-behind high steps or giddiness while trying on flower petal sunglasses (before pulverizing a cashier). Art takes substantial steps closer to Freddy Krueger comparisons, only without pun-fueled dialogue. Leone hits closely on October cult favorite Satan's Little Helper in terms of maximum Halloween mischief gone horror-monster mad. We have so few contemporary slasher icons outside the likes of Adam Green's Hatchet villain Victor Crowley or the Fear Street crew — Thorton and Leone take considerable strides toward securing Art's legacy.

Terrifier 2 slathers sets slick with no-brakes, all-gas gore buffets that recall the schlockiest ‘70s and ‘80s midnighters that've stood their respective tests of time. Leone's confidence when filming Art's heinous acts of inhumanity never averts camera lenses as knives saw through prosthetic necks that gush gelatinous insides like removing a dam's blockage. Every death goes 70 delirious steps too far — Art's style can't just be a pathetic stab. Shotgun blasts sever heads and send them careening into garage walls like a basketball, and makeshift maces bash chests until they split open so Art can reach in and snack on his victim's heart. A neverending bedroom execution sequence recalls everything from Scream 4 to Hellraiser to Piranha 3D in terms of excessive gore, dipping back into a crimson well that never runs dry. Terrifier 2 offers the best bang-for-buck kill count of any slasher that's come out in longer than I can remember — Leone's special effects team deserves every lick of praise coming their way.

Lauren LaVera rules as Sienna in her angel-winged fantasy armor as a final girl fighting for family.

That's what makes Terrifier 2 so difficult to critique. Lauren LaVera rules as Sienna in her angel-winged fantasy armor as a final girl fighting for family, facing her demons, and screaming bloody war cries in Art's mocking face — but Leone's spotty storytelling stunts her enthusiastic survival arc. Other supporting performances like Kailey Hyman's reckless bestie Brooke are less appealingly evocative of cheesier ‘80s stereotypes. There are attempts to introduce Kandarian Dagger-like items with that level of importance but zero revelations why, as focus stays on Art's sensational slaughtering throughout commercial shoot daydreams, seasonal Halloween storefronts, and haunted circus attractions (that explain the film's "Terrifier" title). Everything you love about Terrifier gets better — everything you don't still exists, just to much lesser degrees (progress requires patience).

The Verdict

Terrifier 2 rips, tears, hacks, shreds, butchers, disembowels, decapitates, devours, pulverizes, tenderizes, slices, dices, skewers — I'm missing plenty — and knock-em-out-dead eviscerates the current competition when it comes to low-budget slasher effects. Damien Leone orchestrates sensational slasher extremism that's so foreign in today's modern horror scene, proficiently perverse enough to compile a personal highlight reel of year-topping horror kills. Its seams are bursting, and Leone's screenplay births better ideas than execution, but Art the Clown nonetheless makes his case as a new generation's nightmare mainstay all the more vital. This one's for the gorehounds and real sickos out there — we're eatin' good this Halloween.

Terrifier 2

If you have seen the first Terrifier , you pretty much know what to expect with Terrifier 2 . Art the Clown embarks on yet another killing spree, and God help anyone who gets in his way. Except now, the film has a 140-minute runtime. This gives our favorite killer clown even more time to engage in mayhem and depravity. While the first movie was incredibly brutal and sadistic, director Damien Leone turns things up to eleven for the sequel. This was unquestionably the most violent film to be screened at FrightFest 2022 because Art the Clown really does view each of his murders as works of art (no pun intended).

Art isn’t alone throughout Terrifier 2 . He’s now accompanied by a similarly psychotic unnamed female clown. Sure, she was only a figment of his imagination. But that certainly did not stop Art from gleefully inviting her to join him on his rampage. Even the most somber viewers will probably crack a smile when Art plays patty cakes with his imaginary friend. David Howard Thornton, who portrays Art, is clearly an exceptionally talented actor and mime performer. Needless to say, Art’s movements and mannerisms throughout the film will leave you in stitches. It’s particularly amusing when he silently laughs while slaughtering his victims.

Lauren LaVera plays Sienna, a troubled teenage girl who recently lost her father. Sienna dreams of becoming an artist, and she creates a magnificent angel costume to wear on Halloween. On the other hand, her mother, Barbara (Sarah Voigt), clearly has anger issues, and her brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) is off in his own world most of the time. She clearly just wants to be a normal teenager. But, Sienna gradually comes to accept the reality that she is destined to confront Art the Clown at one point. And the sacred dagger her father left her just might play a role in the showdown. All three actors portraying the family members deliver strong performances which help to make their characters seem believable. That in turn makes us all the more concerned when they become targets of Art’s murderous crusade.

Leone previously stated that Art was unaware of his supernatural abilities until the end of the first movie. While Terrifier 2 does not feature an abundance of supernatural elements, it’s certainly implied that Art is more than a regular human…if he even had any humanity to begin with. He pulls off a woman’s arm with his bare hands. He survives a shotgun blast to the chest.

By now, Art is practically as much of a horror icon as Michael, Jason, and Freddy. We’ll probably never know the full extent of Art’s powers or even how he gained his abilities, but none of that matters. Because Art the Clown is as much of an idea as he is an actual character at this point. As we learned from a certain 1980s graphic novel, ideas really are bulletproof.

Now regarding the actual killings showcased throughout the film. Let’s just say that if you thought the hacksaw scene from the original Terrifier was brutal and depraved, you really haven’t seen anything yet. Without going into spoilers, Art mutilates one of his victims in such a horrendous way that you’re utterly convinced she could not have survived. So then you’r mortified when she opens her mouth and weakly manages to talk before Art finally finishes her off. Needless to say, horror junkies will proudly be ranking and debating the kills in Terrifier 2 for years to come.

There’s also an extended dream sequence taking place in a restaurant known as the Clown Cafe. We can guarantee that you will not be able to get their theme song out of your head. Although your friends might think you are a little strange if you start singing “Food’s a little funny at the Clown Cafe”. So you might want to make sure the song does not leave your head. Either way, this was an odd sequence that didn’t have much of a purpose other than to emphasize to Sienna that she’ll eventually need to face Art.

Having said that, however, the 140-minute runtime really did feel like it breezed by. Aside from the aforementioned Clown Cafe sequence, at no point will you feel like Terrifier 2 was too long or that it was padding for time. Most viewers will be desperate for more by the time the end credits roll, because most of us simply cannot get enough of Art the Clown. Although the extended mid-credits sequence is hugely enjoyable in its own right, so don’t skip it. FrightFest director Paul McEvoy called Terrifier 2 the “ War and Peace of slasher movies” in the intro before the world premiere because of its long runtime, and it could also be described as the ‘ Citizen Kane of killer clown movies”. With its strong performances, brutal kills, and laugh-out-loud moments, horror fans simply cannot afford to miss Art the Clown’s latest cinematic outing.

Terrifier 2

By Michael Talbot-Haynes | November 5, 2023

AWARD THIS! 2023 NOMINEE! The luxury loungers of your local theater are sticky with blood after repeat showings of writer/director Damien Leone’s incredible screen breaker Terrifier 2 . Continuing exactly where the 2016 original left off, the movie follows the return of the Miles County killer, Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton). While washing all the blood off his trademark black and white outfit, Art meets his new best friend, the fiendish-looking Pale Little Girl (Amelie McLain).

Meanwhile, teenage Sienna (Lauren LaVera) has been working for weeks on her homemade valkyrie costume, based on a comic book character her deceased dad drew. Her creepy little brother Jonathan (Elliot Fullam) wants to dress up like Art the Clown. Their mother, Barbara (Sarah Voight), is not cool with that at all, as she is fed up with all the trouble Jonathan has been getting into. Jonathan is mesmerized by his dad’s old sketchbook, as there are drawings of Art the Clown as well as clippings of the previous Halloween massacre. Sienna starts having visions of the clown and evil food trucks. All the while, Art the Clown and the Pale Little Girl go on a merry series of misadventures where people are horribly mutilated and murdered. Death is coming to Miles County again this Halloween, with the streets paved with blood and the lawns turned to graveyards.

movie review terrifier 2

“… Art the Clown and the Pale Little Girl go on a merry series of misadventures where people are horribly mutilated …”

The first  Terrifier was pretty much wall-to-wall clown murders with an unusual wrap-around story involving the final girl. It had a minimalist storyline with no explanation of the carnage other than the clown is evil. It worked due to Thornton’s inspired silent performance as Art and the level of brutality of the kill scenes, especially the woman sawed in half. It was exactly the kind of movie you would expect gore effects artists to make, which is the case for Leone and producer Phil Falcone.

All  Terrifier 2  had to do was take another ride around on the same slaughter train, just have the clown kill people and little else. Instead, Leone and the company have constructed something much more complex and ambitious, even though they didn’t have to. The movie will suddenly go on these surreal tangents leading to some outlandish, gruesome set pieces, almost Busby Berkley splatter.

Yes, is remarkably gory, but no more so than the ’80’s theatrical run of the original Dawn of the Dead. when released, it was given an X rating due to excessive violence, & remains solid to this day

Terrifier 2 (2022) Horror Movie Review

“Terrifier 2” has carved its name into the annals of slasher film history with a bloody flourish. Directed by Damien Leone , this sequel to the cult classic “Terrifier” has been met with a mix of revulsion and acclaim, proving that it is not for the faint of heart. The film’s notorious antagonist, Art the Clown, portrayed by David Howard Thornton , returns to the screen with a performance that is both chilling and captivating.

The movie picks up with Art being resurrected by a mysterious entity, setting the stage for another Halloween night filled with terror in the quiet town of Miles County. This time, Art’s gruesome attention is drawn to siblings Sienna and Jonathan, played by Lauren LaVera and Elliott Fullam , respectively. The plot weaves a sinister tapestry as it explores the connection between the siblings, their deceased father’s ominous sketchbook, and the malevolent clown.

Critics have noted that “Terrifier 2” outshines its predecessor in many aspects, delivering a more substantial narrative and character development. The film’s dedication to practical effects and masterful kill sequences has been praised, offering a visceral experience that harkens back to the glory days of practical effects in horror cinema. However, some reviews have pointed out that despite its improvements, the film still suffers from underdeveloped subplots and a lack of overall cohesion.

The reception of “Terrifier 2” has been polarizing, with some viewers heralding it as a triumph of genre filmmaking, while others have found its graphic content overwhelming. Reports of audience members fainting and vomiting have surfaced, underscoring the film’s intense impact on viewers. Despite these extreme reactions, the film has found a dedicated fanbase that appreciates its unapologetic embrace of the slasher genre’s more brutal elements.

Lauren LaVera’s portrayal of Sienna has been highlighted as a standout performance, infusing the scream queen archetype with a fresh and compelling energy. The film’s aesthetic, including its synth-pop score and retro horror vibes, adds to its charm, appealing to both new and nostalgic fans of the genre.

In the Nutshell

“Terrifier 2” is a bold statement in modern horror, pushing the boundaries of on-screen violence and slasher storytelling. While it may not be universally adored, its commitment to the art of practical effects and its ability to provoke such strong reactions is a testament to its power as a piece of horror cinema. Whether you’re a hardcore slasher fan or a curious newcomer, “Terrifier 2” is a film that demands to be experienced, if only to witness the evolution of Art the Clown’s terrifying legacy. Art the Clown Comes to Life in New Full-Size ‘Terrifier 2’ Animatronics

Art is returning to terrorize Christmas this fall in 'Terrifier 3'.

The Big Picture

  • Art the Clown's haunting legacy continues in Terrifier 3 , set for a blood-soaked Christmas Eve rampage in Miles County.
  • Life-size animatronics of Art and The Little Pale Girl bring the terror of Terrifier 2 to Party City this Halloween season.
  • Terrifier fans can expect more creative kills and disturbing imagery in the upcoming sequel, set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.

Horror fans are just about five months away from Halloween. That also means we’re getting closer to Art the Clown 's deadly return in Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 . The upcoming sequel may be moving away from its spooky seasonal aesthetic in favor of a blood-soaked winter wonderland, but Party City is keeping Art’s haunting Halloween legacy alive with new life-size animatronics .

Based on Terrifier 2 , the two menacing decorative pieces are of Art and their killer sidekick The Little Pale Girl . Art stands over 6 ½-feet-tall and is seen covered in blood, holding a saw and clown horn, and is wearing their sunflower sunglasses from the iconic Halloween store sequence from the first sequel. The Little Pale Girl, on the other hand, stands at just under 5-feet-tall and is holding a dead animal, similar to one seen in the school scenes from Terrifier 2 . These animatronics are motion-activated . This includes their arms, wrists, and heads. If that wasn’t creepy enough, Art is complete with five eerie sounds while The Little Pale Girl’s eyes light up and she “recites a creepy soundtrack.”

What’s ‘Terrifier 3’ About?

Terrifier 3 returns horror fans to Miles County. The ill-fated town has survived two Halloween run-ins with the demonic force known as Art the Clown. However, this time around, Art’s bloody timetable has moved up to the “most wonderful time of year.” Christmas Eve is about to have a body count with no one being safe from Art’s naughty list . This includes jolly old Saint Nick himself, Santa Claus . If anyone can stop Art’s festive madness, it’s Sienna Shaw. Played once again by Lauren LaVera , Terrifier’s beloved Final Girl is in for the rematch of her life with Terrifier 3 set to explore more of her father’s scary connection to Art . Terrifier 2 pushed boundaries due to its creative kills, disturbing imagery, and emotional themes. Even with that, Leone has teased Terrifier fans haven’t seen anything yet . One of the more ghastly additions to Terrifier 2 was The Little Pale Girl and her tragic attachment to Art’s murderous past . It’ll be interesting to see if this tortured soul will return for the latest installment.

When Does ‘Terrifier 3’ Release?

Terrifier 3 is stabbing its way to theaters on October 11, 2024 . The third film recently moved up two weeks after it finished shooting . Art and Pale Girl’s animatronics aren’t up for pre-order yet. However, given Halloween and Terrifier 3 are right around the corner, they should be on Party City’s website soon. Art will be $250 while Pale Girl will scare your wallet at $175 . Life-size seasonal decor has become extremely popular over the last decade, with Party City, Spirit Halloween, and Home Depot fulfilling most horror fans’ wishlists. This includes The latter recently debuting a life-size Darth Vader complete with Christmas and Halloween accessories.

In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

Did you know

  • Trivia Director Damien Leone said that several big studios showed interest in financing this movie based on the unexpected success of Terrifier 2 (2022) , even without a full script. However, he turned them all down because he is certain that they would never let him film the opening scene alone, which he describes as "very controversial". Leone commented that the only reason that he can be so uncompromising in his depiction of horror and gore is because he finances his movies independently, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and has no big studio breathing down his neck to make the movie more mainstream.

An Animatronic (And Expensive) Art The Clown Is Hitting Stores, Just In Time For Halloween

Terrifier 2 sunglasses

Writer/director Damien Leone's "Terrifier" duology is about to become a fully-fledged trilogy this October, when "Terrifier 3" will be unleashed into theaters. On paper, three indie horror movies doesn't feel like the backbone of a huge franchise, but the "Terrifier" series, its characters, and iconography have caught on in a big way. To be fair, the vicious and mysterious killer at the center of the saga, Art the Clown , has appeared in a few more films than just the main "Terrifier" trilogy, as his first appearance was in the "Terrifier" short from 2011, leading to a feature-length role in Leone's Halloween anthology "All Hallows' Eve" from 2013.

So when you add all of that up, the creepy, disconcertingly buoyant murderous clown has been around for over a decade now, allowing a plethora of "Terrifier" t-shirts, posters, action figures, and other merchandise to pop up over the years. It certainly doesn't hurt that 2022's "Terrifier 2" was one of the biggest success stories in horror films ever, with the movie grossing $15.7 million on a $250,000 budget.

In every way, "Terrifier" and Art is a hot property, which helps explain the latest bit of merchandise to come out of Art's nightmare world: a life-size (over 6.5 foot tall) animatronic replica of Art himself, complete with costume and accessories. As with so many premium Halloween decorations these days, Art comes to life via motion sensor, moving about while a selection of eerie sounds and screams play from within (given Art's relentless commitment to being mute, there are no catchphrases or the like he'd spit out — Art's all about 'show, don't tell!'). Although the decoration will be released in time for both Halloween and "Terrifier 3," you're gonna need a chunk of change to hire this clown for your spooky party.

Little Pale Girl can come to your Halloween party, too!

One of the creepiest aspects of "Terrifier" lore (which the upcoming third movie may or may not address) is what exactly Art the Clown is; is he merely an insane murderer, some kind of supernatural demon, or some combination of the two? "Terrifier 2" upped the ante by introducing the Little Pale Girl character, who initially seems to be a figment of Art's imagination, and perhaps is the manifestation of one of Art's former victims. Yet other characters see the Little Pale Girl later in the film, too, so maybe there's something more to her as well.

Point being, if Art's around, chances are the Little Pale Girl is, too, and now you can make sure that's the case with the Little Pale Girl companion animatronic. She's only about 4 feet tall, but she comes with a dead opossum (her favorite accessory) and, according to Party City's website, "recites a creepy soundtrack." She'll run you only $175, but don't forget that Art, who's brandishing his hacksaw and wearing a pair of sunflower sunglasses that he uses to taunt Sienna in "Terrifier 2," is going for a cool $250. That means if you want to have the ultimate in-person "Terrifier" experience this Halloween, you'll need to drop about $425.

Given that hefty price tag, you may want to tell your guests to BYOB this year; I'm sure they'll all agree such an arrangement is worth it after they get to your place and poop their pants when they see these creepy animatronics. And don't worry: as the "Terrifier" films demonstrate on multiple occasions, both Art and Little Pale Girl are very chill about poopy pants.

Art the Clown set to return in 'Terrifier 3' this October: 'I don't want people fainting'

movie review terrifier 2

Two years after " Terrifier 2 " induced vomiting and fainting, director Damien Leone announced the third film in his horror series will again hit U.S. theaters during the spookiest month of the year.

" Terrifier 3 ," which follows Art the Clown, played by actor David Howard Thornton, is expected to be released October 11, according to IMDB .

"Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve," the film's synopsis on IMDB says.

The second film cost $250,000 to create but in 2023 it made $11 million domestically and another $4 million internationally, Deadline reported.

“We’re so excited to bring the next Terrifier to theaters this fall just in time for the Halloween season,” producer Phil Falcone told Deadline. “'Terrifier 3' will deliver everything the fans expect and more with Art the Clown taking things to the next level. We can’t thank our fans enough for their support and for making us believe we’ve made something truly special.”

'Terrifier 2' made moviegoers throw up, faint

Some people who saw "Terrifier 2" when the film dropped in the U.S. on Oct. 6, 2022, had memorable experiences, which included fellow moviegoers puking and passing out .

One X user posted on Oct. 9, 2022, that his "friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance" after they viewed "Terrifier 2" together.

TJ Bark, another X user, shared a post on Oct. 7, 2022, saying, "Just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gory mess."

Bark went on to detail how a guy behind him "passed out cold" and crashed into his chair, while another guy left the theater because "he didn't feel good." He then recalled overhearing the guy who walked out of the theater "puking hard and loud in the bathroom," according to the social media post.

"I loved the movie," Bark said in another X post. "It was a long one but it never felt dragged on. The gore was plentiful and great. This movie will be a Classic Horror film and it’ll be the start (for many people) of a very special and long journey with Art The Clown."

'I don't want people fainting'

Leone told Entertainment Weekly that he has mixed feelings about audiences' reactions to the Terrifier films

"Listen, I would have loved to have a couple of walk-outs, I think that's sort of a badge of honor because it is an intense movie," Leone said. "I don't want people fainting, getting hurt during the movie. But it's surreal."

New chilling look at upcoming horror movie Terrifier 3 features Art the Clown back in his regular outfit and a new release date

Art the Clown is coming to town... two weeks earlier

Terrifier 3

Good news slasher fans, we have just got a new look at Terrifier 3, and better yet the highly anticipated upcoming horror sequel has also confirmed an earlier release date, meaning Art the Clown is starting his killing spree two weeks early.

As announced by Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse in a press release, Terrifier 3 will now be released in US theaters on October 11, 2024, as opposed to its previous October 25 release date, meaning you will be able to enjoy the threequel all the way through the spooky season. However, as the film recently confirmed its UK release date for October 25, we are still waiting to hear if this will be bumped up too.

The film’s producer Phil Falcone said of the earlier release date: "We’re so excited to bring the next Terrifier to theaters this fall just in time for the Halloween season. Terrifier 3 will deliver everything the fans expect and more with Art the Clown taking things to the next level."

Along with the updated schedule, the studios have dropped yet another look at Art the Clown, this time in his original black and white clown costume rather than the Santa suit we saw him wearing in the first look and teaser . In the image, Art is in his signature goofy pose with his white gloves covered in blood in what looks to be a dark attic. Is it me or does his suit look shiner? See the full look above.

Terrifier 3, which wrapped filming earlier this year , is written and directed by franchise creator Damien Leone, and as per the synopsis follows Art the Clown who is yet again "set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve." The film welcomes back David Howard Thornton as Art, Terrifier 2 ’s Lauren LaVera as Sienna, Terrifier’s Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes, and more.

“Given Terrifier 2 ‘s success both at the box office, with passionate fans of slasher movies, and as a mainstream pop culture phenomenon, there has been a tremendous amount of excitement building for Terrifier 3 – named one of USA Today’s Top 10 most anticipated horror films of 2024,” McGurk said. “We are grateful for the support from partners like BondIt that have put us in the advantageous position to have strong return on our investment in this franchise, along with Damien’s unmatched creative genius.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with … the full Cineverse team,” said BondIt CEO Matthew Helderman. “The expansion of their business into larger tier projects like Terrifier 3 gave us the opportunity not only to partner on this genuinely exciting film that is the rare instance of an independent project breaking through … but also across a larger slate of opportunities we’re now gearing up for throughout the remainder of 2024.”

Bondit recently financed and exec produced with AGC Studios the Anna Kendrick directed and starring project Woman of the Hour , aquired by Netflix, and financed and produced Emmy-winning film Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street for HBO.
